p_elliott
I bought an ERSB for $21 and a Blanton's for $39 so I saved $10 a piece on both of these. I also bought ORVW 10/107 and a OWA NAS. I was looking for Pappy 15 the store that I knew sold Pappy had no Pappy at all. When asked about Pappy 15 they said one customer bought their whole allotment. smokinjoe
What? There's an EW BiB Green Label?? Damn. Can you bring one of those to the gazebo Joe?
Rughi
Sure, I'll bring one. I think it was Craig (Craigthom) who wrote here some time back, that he heard the Green Label with the Little Cabin was pretty limited in release geographically. He might have even said it was a Georgia-only? I can't corroborate that, because I think I've seen it in other states. But, I'm not sure.

dmarkle
Two bottles of WL Weller Antique 107 at $23. Quite nice for the price. Although I might prefer the new Old Fitzgerald BIB for $16 more. Not sure yet. I need to keep drinking.

bourbon-n00b
Purchased over the weekend, but have yet to receive, a small stash of vintage minis:Kentucky Tavern BiB 1945/1949Mount Vernon Rye BiB 1945/1953Old Stagg x 2 (One 80 proof, can't read the other)Old Fitzgerald BiB (86 proof? Not sure what's up with that.) Old Forester 86 proofEarly Times Bourbon 80 proofOld Family Bourbon 86 proof (Never heard of this one)Great chance to try some stuff I likely would not be able to otherwise and at a per-bottle cost less than a Makers Mark in a bar. Not bad, if I do say so myself.
Joshua
This is really scummy, but happens ALL the time. I generally either leave one behind if there is 2 of something new and fancy... or for say Pappy 15 I bought two bottles, went back two weeks later for another, then a week or two after that for another. Yeah my local sold their whole allotment to one person too. Kind of crappy I'd say not to take care of at least a couple other regs too. Although my other spot got a case and no one has bought any but me!!
TomH
This is why I really appreciate the 2 retailers I deal with the most. Many limited allocation items they never even put on their shelves or only put one out at a time. By doing this no one gets to raid the good stuff and while some of us may not get as many bottles as we want we at least get something (sometimes just one, that's why I do my best to stay in the good graces of 2 different retailers so that hopefully I can get 2 bottles of most anything between the 2 stores).TomYeah my local sold their whole allotment to one person too. smokinjoe
My Maker's 46 is running low, so I picked up another one. Also, spied and grabbed some 200 ml WT 86.8's, EW 7 yr 90 proof, and for sh%#'s and giggles, a couple 200's of Barton's QT Light Whiskey.
SMOWK
Found a lonely bottle of Buffalo Trace at a local liquor store. It's been a couple years since I bought a bottle of BT. The last one I had was undrinkable, which ended up going to my brother. This one, pretty damn good.UPS brought me six bottles of Weller 12 today. Two of which were only half full/half empty upon arrival. DOH! Luckily, it's already been taken care of by the shipper.
CorvallisCracker
...and for sh%#'s and giggles, a couple 200's of Barton's QT Light Whiskey. :eek:Good gawd. They still make that?
smokinjoe
Good gawd. They still make that? I don't think so. The bottle has a Georgia Liquor Tax Stamp on it, which takes it back a ways. Maybe, late 80's? It's 80 proof and aged 24 months. I love the story on the label : "This is no ordinary whiskey. Barton's QT is so unique, versatile and smooth tasting, it's perfect straight, on the rocks, or in your favorite cocktail or highball. It's almost like having an entire liquor cabinet in one bottle (italics, mine). Master whiskey craftsmen distill Barton's QT with pride, age it in seasoned oak casks, then filter it by a special process. Barton's QT is the easiest drinking whiskey ever created." Shucks, after that write-up, I may just sell off my entire bunker and drink nothing but this!
