cowdery
When Dickel was kicked out of Tennessee in 1910 they moved to Stitzel-Weller in Louisville, where they even installed charcoal vats. After Prohibition, the Shwab family sold it to Schenley, which made a George Dickel Bourbon at what is now Buffalo Trace. There was no special still, nor any charcoal vats, it was their standard bourbon. In the 1950s, when Schenley was an unsuccessful bidder for Jack Daniel's, the company decided to repatriate its own Tennessee Whiskey, building a new distillery in Cascade Hollow.
