2010 BTAC has made it to So Cal! Picked up 2 cases of GTS, 2 bottles of WLW and one bottle each of Sazerac 18, ER 17 and T. Handy. At $69 a piece, that is $10 more a bottle than I paid last year and I feel lucky to have only paid that much. I have seen a few more around, but at $79+. Hi-Time sold out of GTS at $119! I see prices going up at least $10 per bottle next year and would not be surprised to see $89 being the norm.

My wife brought me back a WT - 8 yr and WT - 12 yr from Duty Free Tokyo.

Apparently she has other boubons from Japan, but I have to wait until Christmas for those :(.

6 bottles of PVW23. I now have 2 bottles that are numbered D1336. Both were picked up recently. ????? Is that possible?

You have the proof it is Possible !!! That is exactly the Reason I never buy over five at a time of that stuff..

Also that may possibly be the same label recorder that missed the J version on the VWFRR and started again with A.....B instead of J and K. We never did hear much on that one either,,,,,,,,,,,

After cracking a bottle of PHC 10yr 127.8 last night and enjoying it immensely I decided that I needed to grab another before it's too late. I ordered that and a couple bottles of rum from Shopper's Vineyard. :)

Picked up my first two bottles that officially start my bunker. Gotta start somewhere, right? EWSB 2000, and a liter of EW BIB white label. I read on here that high proof and BIB bourbons are going to become scarcer, and the EW BIB is a super good, and super cheap bunker stuffer. I can get a 750 of it for $11, which I don't even think is ethical, but there you have it.

Started putting out feelers for some Wild Turkey RR 101. The fellow at the store said "Just bring me a list of everything you're looking for, and I'll start working on it." I thought that was very Christian of him.

My buddy just grabbed 6 x PVW 15 for me today. Yeehaw, my bunker was down to 3! He left behind 6 others that I'm wishing I'd told him to get.

If you mean Russell's Reserve 10 year 101 it hasn't been produced/distributed since about 2005 and is a mighty rare find. Of course maybe your fellow has a back room full of dusties and you hit the jack pot. You can read more about what SBers had to say about its discontinuance back then here:

I just bought a bottle of Black Maple Hill "Limited Edition" bottled in Bardstown, but it has no age listed. What's the deal? I haven't opened it yet. How can I expect it to be?

Christmas presents to myself this week:

WLW 10 x 2

Pappy 15

ORWV 107

Good to go for a long time. Can't wait to try them all!

I had a bottle of PVW23 that was devoid of any numbering. It appears they aren't too careful in that respect.

I've had it. Is it the orangeish label? Reminded me of a good Old Grandad. Not worth the price.

I think some people refer to the orangeish label one as banana bourbon. it reminds me of vobbib.

I picked up two more Old Rip Van Winkle 10/107.

The place I bought it had quite a few Pappy 15yo's but I passed because I think Old Rip is better and price has no influence on my opinion.

Also got a bottle of W. L. Weller Cenntenial Louisville, um, but it's only a 50ml bottle.

50ml of Louisville WLW Cen is better than none.

If I could find enough ORVW 10/107, I would have a lot more of them. They seem a little less consistent than the Pappy 15s in a good and bad way. Some of them are better than Pappy 15, and some of them are nowhere near as good as the same bottle right next to it. Fortunately, or unfortunately, however you look at it, Pappy 15s keep falling into my hands. And they are cheaper than the ORVW 10/107s I've had to hunt for.

No kiddin', Pappy 15 is $25.00 more than ORVW 10/107 here in MI.

I'm comparing apples to oranges. They both come from different places. It seems like my distributor can get anything but the 10 year. Go figure. Not that I'm complaining.

Jim Beam Distillers Series. I'm buying all the bottles I can find since it's a limited release version, I believe.

Oscar, a few questions to pick your brain:

How much is ORVW 10/107 in MI?

Could you give a few tasting notes on ORVW 10/107 and why you like it better than PVW15?

Lastly, what's your take on ORVW 10/90?

Thanks in advance for letting me pester you.

Had to replenish my WT101 after Thanksgiving weekend, then it was a Rye fest: 1 bottle of Hirsch 25yr, 2 bottles of Willet 2yr Indiana Rye, and a Ritt80proof for $9.99.

2 x Pappy 20

1 x Pappy 15

2 x Lot B

The bunker feels a bit more comfortable these days. I've added close to 25 bottles this month. Love this time of year.
