JamesW
If I could find enough ORVW 10/107, I would have a lot more of them. They seem a little less consistent than the Pappy 15s in a good and bad way. Some of them are better than Pappy 15, and some of them are nowhere near as good as the same bottle right next to it. Fortunately, or unfortunately, however you look at it, Pappy 15s keep falling into my hands. And they are cheaper than the ORVW 10/107s I've had to hunt for.I've had terrible luck with the 10/107's lately. Last three bottles were like cough medicine. It was a favorite of mine too. The 15's have all been good to me and I've got about 10 bunkered at the moment. So here's to 15's falling into your hands !!!

OscarV
Oscar, a few questions to pick your brain:How much is ORVW 10/107 in MI?Could you give a few tasting notes on ORVW 10/107 and why you like it better than PVW15?Lastly, what's your take on ORVW 10/90?Thanks in advance for letting me pester you.Pappy 15yo is dry and doesn't have the sweetness that I associate with a wheated bourbon.ORVW 10/107 is like caramelized toffee, MI state minimum is $39.95 plus 6% sales tax.ORVW 10/90 isn't available in the mitten. I did get some from out of state and there really is no reason to buy any more when 10/107 is available. It's watered down to much, it gives you hope but it doesn't deliver.BTW, does the Parkersback screen name have anything to with "The Man With The Getaway Face"? MarkEdwards
I went into the store after work, and picked up their last bottle of Pappy 15. He is apparently very apprciative of the Pappy, as he cautioned me to "be very careful because it's the last 15 year old".To make up for it, I discovered he has several bottles of the Pappy rye, so I took one of those home too. George
Happy to say that I finally picked up a bottle each of Weller 12 and the 2010 Parker's Heritage Collection. This was the first time I saw either of them in a store.

This store's been sitting on them for awhile.

flintlock
Went hunting again, largely a research trip as I'm starting to take and keep notes on prices and who-has-what. Found what I believe is my first real good bottle - which got its own thread. Also bought my first but definitely not last VOB 100 proof, and found two bottles of Old Heaven Hill which I'd never seen before, the NAS bottle, BIB.I went to probably the biggest, best stocked store in a 50 mile radius, so large that they actually had a place on the shelf for ORVW 10/107 and PVW 13 year. Both slots were empty and dusty. I asked when they expected more in, and he said they never had any idea. They got whatever they got, and I could put my name on the call list if I wanted. They would start at the top of the list and work down it until it's all gone. I ain't holding my breath.Anyone know of any stores between Nashville and Atlanta that are heavily stocked and have Pappy and other truly top shelf stuff? onmytrack
Picked up 2 bottles of ORVW 10 107 @ $34.99 ea. They had 2 bottles of ORVW 10 90, but they wanted $34.99 each for those so I left them on the shelf. I also left some Lot B @ $54.99. They must have had 8 bottles. Lot B used to be my favorite when I could get all I wanted from Binny's @ $39.99, but those days are long gone.Jim

Virus_Of_Life
Come Down to Indy and find out.....:grin:At that price I'd have bought them all too! Because if you didn't someone else was going to come along and do it. I like the AS, the more I drink it the more I like it. Now the one I do not like at all is the new Tradition, that one to me is way too woody.By some miracle I came across a couple more 2010 Staggs today. Probably were the last couple reasonably priced in MSP area, if not that last ones period. They flew off shelves around here this year.

sdchap00
WT CGF, though the label is faded to more of a silver. Bottom of the bottle has both 83 and 87 on it, so I'm not sure which year it's from.
BluesDaddy
Not exactly me, but my wife and I were out with her father yesterday evening and stopped at a fairly nice "wine & spirits" store before going home. Naturally I wanted to check out what bourbons they might have, especially looking for Weller 12. My FIL has been enjoying the fruits of my search for good bourbon, so we're perusing the shelves of bourbon together. Nicest selection of bourbon of any store I've been in so far and a lot of interesting selections in the $30 +/- range, but no Weller 12. In fact, no Weller Antique and no Weller SR. I was a little disappointed, but still looking at the nice selection they had and working my way down the shelf line. Lo and behold I came upon Old Rip Van Winkle 10 (107). Having read a good bit about the VW line but never having come across any I was pretty sure I'd be making a purchase, but there was no price. I confess in this economic climate with a daughter still in college, I've limited myself to pretty much no more than right around $30 for a bottle of bourbon. The ORVW wasn't priced (imagine that) but I figured it to be above that. Anyway, I pick up a bottle and keep looking and what do I stumble upon but a bottle of William LaRue Weller Barrel Proof. I really wasn't even aware of this offering, but figured it was going to be pricey. In the meantime, my wife had gone up to the counter to see if they had any Weller 12 and the manager said no, but what do you think he had already shown her? Yep, the WLW Barrel proof - and it was "only" $73. Too pricey for me for a casual drop in buy. Anyway, we're standing talking with the manager who prices the ORVW for me and it is $47 or so. He says he also has the PVW 15 for about $75 and a 20 for, he says, right around $100. He also says he has a PVW 23 for about $300. (Oh to be independently wealthy!) Anyway, as we're standing there my FIL (who back in May had heart surgery and can't drink much) says "well lets get the ORVW and the Weller, since I can't drink a lot I can at least drink quality". So, long story short, my FIL bought both the ORVW and the Weller for about $130 with tax. We'll be cracking both for tastes today during the SEC Championship. Not a bad end to an evening at all! Do I have a great FIL or what?!!
