Now that's a great FIL. Mine drank cheap Canadian blends and would always want me to join him having a "toddy for the body".

I bought him a bottle of Old Grand Dad when we learned that my wife was pregnant with our daughter and it took him a while to figure out the significance. Of course by then he was a grandpa several time over and being a grandpa was old hat.

Enjoy the game, who are you rooting for?

I had a VERY eventful day today. I got the call from my boy at Vendome in Beverly Hills that my order was in, and carted off a whole CASE of Rittenhouse 100 BiB....for $24/bottle, with a 10% case discount that covered sales tax! I got the best cheap rye possible for the next year! WOOT WOOT!

Got a couple of goodies today.

Two bottles of Old Weller Antique 107, but wait there's more to it.

They were selected by The Loch & K(e)y Society thru Julio's Liquors and they are single barrels, barrel #67 at 8 years old.

Nice pickup Oscar...I have 6 of those same bottles enroute to me! :)

I also grabbed a R/E Willett 17yr 139.5 proof and a bottle of FRBS Paws and Claws OBSK.

Thanks to Reid and Scott for helping a brother out!

Picked up a bottle of Rebel Reserve. I'd never seen it before, so I thought I'd try it. I'm not expecting a lot, given what I've read about it.

2 2010 Stagg

1 18 year old Elijah Craig

1 Jefferson's very small batch

1 12 year old Rowans creek

Well that's a nice little haul, Buckey. The EC18 was my "gateway" bourbon and I've loved it ever since. Let us know what you think of the Stagg 2010. Enjoy!

Picked up another .....and probably my last.....GTS 2010 this week. That gives me 4 which is actually a couple more than I had planned on buying. Unfortunately I tasted it a couple of times and that broke down my resistance to reducing my bunker stockpiling.

I need another bottle or 2 of Stagg. Need to keep these 2 in the bunker for now. Can't find more locally, I keep looking thou.

Loved the 09 Stagg, best of the 3 I have tried.

The other ones are all new to me.

I felt fortunate to pick up a case of 2010 PHC today from a local store that had special ordered it in for a customer who was a no show.

Which bottling is it Rod? They did two dumps...a 127.8 and a 124.2. I have them both open and I need to do a side by side with them. I had them back to back last night and I found that I prefered the 124.2 but this was after a number of pours so my impressions might have been a little influenced by some earlier pours and the effects they had on me!

I have gotten lucky and am pretty well stocked on '10 Weller. I would love to trade for '06 if that isn't too outrageous of a request.

Found a bottle of beam black with only 6 beams on the side, I wonder if it will taste any different to the current bottlings.

Rare Breed as a Christmas gift for a friend. Kentucky Spirit for another friend and a bottle of Tribute for myself.

I think you'd have to cough up at least two of this year's to get a bottle of the '06. That is pretty highly regarded, not to mention difficult much harder to find.
