hectic1
Yesterday I picked up 2 handles of Old Fitz prime from 1994 for $23ea and today I grabbed a ORVW 10/107 and 2 Pappy 15's from this years batch! You can NEVER have too much Pappy 15 in the bunker IMO!
BradleyC
I think you'd have to cough up at least two of this year's to get a bottle of the '06. That is pretty highly regarded, not to mention difficult much harder to find.
sailor22
The local liquor store just got in their single barrel pick of Willett - they had it bottled at 102 proof as opposed to the typical barrel proof and really hit the sweet spot on their barrel of 17yr juice. Got one yesterday and I'm going to bunker one or two more. This might be one of the best of the batch of KBD barrel picks floating around just now. They also did a Woodford blend of straights using two barrels that is some fine juice. Hopefully santa will provide one or two of those for me as it's a great price ($32 a liter). This is a weird feeling being able to buy unique, interesting and delicious juice locally and not pay shipping. nor02lei
I did get a half full bottle of Dickel barrel select in a small box yesterday. I bought it on German e-bay from some guy that had it as a left over from some tasting event. Well packet with no leak as last time I bought from him.Leif

smokinjoe
At lunch today, picked up a bottle of McScrooge's Blanton's. I had this during KBF, and it was stellar. Looking forward to opening this one up, later. Also, and even though I'm not rah-rah over it, I picked up a Ri(1)...Cuz it was $19.99.

flintlock
Got a bottle of ORVW 10 107. There were 3 others there I hope to get once Christmas is behind me. Doubt they'll last though.
birdman1099
I picked up a bottle yesterday for $80. The Party Source sells their 17 yr cask strength Willet online for $100. In my opinion, this store in town that is selling it has pretty fair prices for bourbon that seem comparable to that of The Party Source. So the $20 difference between the two bottlings seems fair to me. I haven't opened my bottle yet, but did have a taste at their lounge and thought it was excellent. Might need to save up some money to pick up another bottle.$80 for a 17 yr wheater at 102 proof.....$65 for a Pappy 15, a 15 yr Wheater at 107 proof....Yeah, that does seem reasonable !!!!
callmeox
$80 for a 17 yr wheater at 102 proof.....$65 for a Pappy 15, a 15 yr Wheater at 107 proof....Yeah, that does seem reasonable !!!!:grin:As reasonable as $125.00 for an ~$80.00 17yr wheater at 120+ proof, I reckon. As far as I'm concerned, if it tastes right then it's up to you if it's worth the price. This 102 proof 17yr tastes right. May not sound to you like the greatest deal, but it's most certainly not the worst.

BMartin42
Well, I just made my first "top shelf" purchase. I came home tonight with a PVW 20, GTS, WLW, and ER 17. Total biill out the door with tax - $302.74. Feel I like did "OK" pricewise, but am very excited about the haul. Merry Chistmas to me!

I guess it falls in with all of the other non-bourbon purchases talked about in the thread then. But feel free to alert the mods and have it deleted for thread drift.
