Going to crack open a 50 year old bottle of J.W. Dant tonight. Never tried it. Any fans?

Good?

Bad?

I once had a bottle of JW Dant BIB from the early 80's. Wish I had a couple more. Pretty darn good stuff. Joe

Kenwood Liquors SB of Old Weller Antique...I opened this on Saturday so it hasn't settled yet. I'm trying to reserve my thoughts until I can get about 1/3 of the bottle down and then I'll put it back in the cabinet for a couple weeks before I revisit. I learned a lesson with judging a current bottle of ORVW 10/107 right when I opened it. That bottle has improved 10 fold since opening.

Will do Scott - I'll compare it with a couple of the other 4R products that I have as well.

Actually enjoying some MM46 tonight. I didn't care for this the first few times I had it but something about it tonight I find quite pleasant.

I had vintage 21 rye before dinner and ORVW 10/107 from 2002 after yesterday. Both tasted splendid, but the rye found the spot best.

Julio's ERSB tonight

Jason, did you have their 'Angel's Share' bottling or the standard? I opened up the Julio's AS a couple days ago and really enjoy it. Vastly different from any ERSB I've ever had. I think I know what I'm going to pour when I get done with work...

Just opened a bottle of 2010 Parker Heritage.

It had a great nose of Molasses and burnt sugar.Great weight and a lot of Caramel ,Toffee and a hint of Cocoa and cinnamon .I also pick up a hint of maple syrup. There is some heat but not as much as 2010 WLW.It seem just a little more sharp the WLW.But has many layers of flavors.

I think its a great bourbon and imho is just about in the same league as WLW.

Regards,Mike

I am quickly becoming very good friends with Elmer T Lee. My first pour from my very first bottle .......... somehow, I don't think it will be the last.

Better go grab a few more for the bunker. The state ABC dropped ETL, and it will be hard to come by locally in the near future. All of my local stores are sold out.

A couple pours of OFBB 2007...why can't the rest of the OFBB's be this good? :(

They are, Bob. They're just...different. And, that's the beauty, and genius, of what B-F does with this expression.

Cleared the palate after dinner with some Wathen's and now trying to compare and contrast RR 101 against WTRB from 1995. To my surprise and this is not blind, the WTRB seems the winner. The RR 101 is certainly the drier of the two.
