I decided that I was going to have a wheater night...2 pours of Weller Cent, Weller 12, and 2 pours of ORVW 10/107. As good as the Weller 12 and the ORVW 10/107 are they can't hold a candle to the Weller Cent...that is some of my favorite stuff ever bottled...when you get a good bottle that stuff is something to behold...I really wish they still bottled it! :(

I so agree and there are times for me it beats out PVW 15 and not that far behind the VVOF I've been fortunate to taste. One of my bigger hunting blunders was just buying one and leaving two behind on a shelf in Kentucky back in 09 because of the $35.00 price. Of course they were gone on my next visit.

Had a hankerin' for something from the bunker so I cracked a 750

of J. W. Dant BIB (Frankfort & Louisville). Distilled at DSP-KY-2 and

bottled at DSP-KY-16. Boy, is this some tasty stuff!

I went and looked at the bunker longingly but did not bring anything new up.

So I'm having a 2010 WLW and will follow with a 2010 GTS.

That Binnys Weller 12 I think is next man up.

It's not the same bottle you were drinking in January of last year, is it?

(tho' I guess technically, that was Winter 2010 as well, right?...

I found your thread while searching the forums after I opened my bottle.)

OGD BIB. Distilled DSP 230 Bottled DSP 14. Bottom of bottle shows 94. Very straightforward in your face type bourbon. Quite tasty.

Actually, I re-read your thread....

The ones I have are:

Distilled DSP-KY-113 Bottled DSP-IN-2

Distilled DSP-KY-113 Bottled DSP-KY-16

you have:

Distilled DSP-KY-2 Bottled DSP-KY-16

At first, I thought we had the same bottling....

Then I re-read your post and thought... DSP-KY-2 and DSP-KY-113 is a different distillery

Then I looked in my file cabinet and found that DSP-KY-113 and DSP-KY-2 has both been used by BT, EH Taylor, GT Stagg, OFC, and Ancient age. So maybe these bottles are the same...

Confused?????

It's contagious John and decided I will have the same (DSP 2/DSP 16) except my Dant was opened a while back and is 3/4s gone. I agree it is very tasty indeed. Kind of reminds me of my long ago bar-tending days and doing what we called phone shots (usually Irish Mist) where you quickly phoned another bartender friend working another establishment and furtively but together had a quick one. This was way before cell phones but most bars usually had a phone close to the bartender for security purposes.

Just bottled 3 of the decanters that I purchased about a month ago...a JW Dant 8yr 86pr from 1968, a Beam 100 mo 86pr from 1969, and a Beam's Choice 8yr 86pr from 1971...the Beam's choice is fantastic bourbon...I wish Beam still made stuff like that today. I haven't tried the other two yet but plan on it later! :)

PVW 15 in the AM. Life is good.

I did a comparison of two bottles, the first has been opened about 18 months, the second about 6 months. No difference both excellent. Thick, rich, sweet full of flavor.

If they changed the wine (grape juice in my church...:soapbox: ) to Pappy 15 in church, attendence would be much better. Or better yet, change the bread to Pappy. Whiskey is just distilled fermented bread, right?

Anyway, enjoying a surprisingly good vatting of 2 parts 4R SBBS OBSK, 2 parts OBSF, and 1 part LE Small Batch 2011 and a splash of purified water. Deeeeeelightful.

All this j.w dant talk got me wanderin', is the current j.w dant worth looking into? A local liquor store has tons of it, but I'm pretty sure it's new stock

I opened my Dant as a treat. I knew it was an older bottle

and was hoping (and was right!) that it'd be good. I most

likely wouldn't buy a current Dant but that's not to say it

isn't good stuff.

KC 1B 120prf, neat.

I've had this bottle open for 11 days now and have been tasting it on and off and today it has hit my sweet spot.

It has developed nicely.
