Toasting what has turned out to be a really good week, with a healthy pour of Maker's 46. This 46 is wonderful whiskey.

Enjoyed a respite from the winter weather today reaching a high of 75. Celebrating with a little WT 8/101.

JBW. Weller SR. BT. RHF.

The Weller SR is great for such a low price pour. Certainly not as good as the antique or the 12, but for less than $14 I'm not sure it can be beat by anything else I have tried at that price point. Beats the pants out of JBW, OT, or OC at any rate. Anybody have any suggestions for something that is as good or better for $14 or less?

Last night I had some Old Fitz BIB from 1968 followed by a Binny's Weller 12...hands down the Binny's Weller 12 was a better pour for me. It's been about a year since I've had that pour and I was amazed by the thickness and the caramel and vanilla that is has. I've been drinking down a current bottle of Weller 12 BT juice and it has far more wood and not nearly the thickness of the Binny's bottle. I've had many bottles of Weller 12 and to my pallet this bottling ranks at or very close to the top. The extra age on this bottling really seems to have brought the best out of the Bernheim bourbon that's inside. I know alot of people love the SW Weller 12's from the 90's but IMO this stuff is right there with it.

Pappy 20. I am enjoying both the maturity & smoothness. It still maintains the vibrance, but I don't particularly like the grassy finish. The finish is reminiscent of a much younger bourbon.

I did chare some WTRR101 with my sons here in Gothenburg last night. It was a while since I had this brand and it was better than I remembered.

Enjoyed a vatting of EC18 and PS Willett 3 Year 123.1 proof. Didn't measure anything, just put in a splash of the Willett at the end. Next time I'll note the proportions, I think it worked out quite well. The younger bourbon added some strength, took a little off of the sometimes tannic finish of the EC, yet retained the fabulous nose.

On to some Four Roses OESO now...

Just open a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel. It has a great nose with a lot of Honey and spice. On the palate some caramel ,candy fruit and a little vanilla.

It had a medium weight and a fairly long finish.

A great pour for a $30.00 bourbon.

Regards,Mike
