nivto
I stuck with the noah's mill and four roses smb vatting but added just a splash of WLW. If I had an open OWA I would have used that but the WLW did the job. It filled in the gaps by adding layers of caramel in the midpalate and thickening the mouthfeel. I don't know why I tried to experiment all of a sudden, but this time around was a fun success.

smokinjoe
Rolling over to 5:00, here. Going with a regular Four Roses Single Barrel. I just don't think I've had any of the 4R LE's, Mariages, or Barrel Proof (both 4R and private bottlings) selections that give me the consistent enjoyment that this one does. At times, some of those I listed can be very good, but I think I'd have to say I prefer the plain old Single Barrel as my fave in the line-up. Master_Photog
WOW! An unbelievable first pour! I cannot imagine this getting better as the bottle nears its 'sweet spot'. Nosing - immediate strong honeysuckle, followed by dark chocolate and a sweet vinaigrette dressing note. This is a fantastic bourbon!! Had a couple sips neat then added a very small amount of room temp water to really reveal the flavors. The water did this justice by accurately opening up the nosed flavors. 4 quick oz. is a swift kick in the ass too!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

nor02lei
I did pop up a Weller 7/107 1985 from the bunker yesterday. It tasted good from the first pour and it was no sign of any off notes like gun powder or harshness for instance that this bottles sometime gives in the beginning. I did continue the wheat trend with WLW 2010 after dinner.Leif
bourbonNOOG
When I got home from my run I made myself a bowl of Blue bell vanilla ice cream. I was going to pour myself a glass of bourbon but then I thought to myself, why can't I have my bourbon and eat it to. I busted out the MM46, which I often and only use for bourbon milk shakes. I popped the top and poured it over the ice cream.I licked the bowl when I was done.
