Tonight I tried my first cigar out of the Macanudo Gold Label series. Beautiful golden connecticut shade wrapper with a flawless smoothness. 6.5 x 45, just about the perfect sized cigar IMHO. It burned even from the beginning with an easy draw. Lots of blue smoke with nutty undertones and an understated sweetness that really mixed well. An ever-so-slight bitterness makes me think that this one would pair well with a good strong cup of black cofee, but tonight it is with EWSB '93. The sweetness from the cigar went well with the fruity sweet bourbon. The black tea notes in the bourbon matched the bitter coffee notes in the cigar quite well. From what I understand, the Gold Label series is a limited edition one, so grab them while you can. Any opinions?
