mark fleetwood
Anybody have any info on Pioneer Distillers Limited, a Amherstburg Ontario Canada company in the 1st quarter of the 20th century?A couple Google search revealed a current-day India-based alcohol-producing company and a few snippets of the Canadian company in question: around 1927 it was purchased by Henry Reifel and became part of his Brewers and Distillers Corporation, which itself sold its distillery part to Seagrams around WWII. But beyond that not much else. Anyone know what spirits/brands Pioneer produced and if any survived to current day? And, more generally, are there any good sources of Canada's distilleries history, like a pre-pro.com for her spirits industry's past?thanks.
