I picked up a few bottles this weekend, including Angels Envy, Pappy 15, single barrel 1792, Vintage Rye 23, and some dusty 200's of Old Taylor 6/86.

The Taylor was a payback for Google Maps taking us about 50 miles the wrong direction while looking for a BBQ joint. Our navigator spotted the liquor store as we made our way back from the hinterlands and we were rewarded for our time.

Going the wrong way can pay off. On the way back home from visiting my dad my sister claimed we don't have time to check these 3 liquor stores. She then got on I64 east instead of west and the first exit to get off was for the town I wanted to go through. You could also cut through the town and get right back on further up so now she ended up checking them since we were right there. 2 were a total bust and the other I found 3 bottles of Pappy 20 that were still around from the Fall release 5 months later.

Had some business to the east, so I went to a pair of stores a few towns over hoping that their spring allocation had arrived since I was last there several weeks back. Success! Got the only PVWFR 15 left at the first one for $59.99, and another at the second store (which had a decent stock) for $69.99.

Funny to see so much of the 20 and 23 in their little felt baggies....

WILD TURKEY AMERICAN SPIRIT 15 YEAR BOURBON - Thought it would be a good pour to celebrate the recent victory on terrorism.

Think I may have messed up and jumped the gun on the Vintage 21 rye yesterday and it was actually the bourbon instead.

If not though then I will have 5 bottles of it because today I tracked some down 100% for sure and placed an order for the following:

(3) Vintage 21 Rye

(1) PVW15

(1) PVW20

Stopped by an old 'shoppe' and perused the very back of the top shelf. Took home a W.L. Weller 12 year, and Jim Beam Distillers Select (7yrs).

The search for pappy 15yr continues...

Stopped today and picked another bottle of Bulleit bourbon. Still no sign of the rye. Have a shipment due on the 4th containing 2 Old Charter 10 and 1 AAA 10. Have not had the AAA 10 since I left West Virginia 31 years ago. Looking forward to seeing if it's as good as I remember.

I have been trying to find just ONE bottle of the Vintage 21 Rye, can anyone help? I just don't see any at all down here in the south and to see 7 (not sure how you attained them) but locally it just wont happen. Hopefully I can get someone to help out online. At least I can get my hand of a good amount of Pappy because this area carries it, however Vintage 21 Rye is a different story. Thanks for anyone that can help, chef...etc?

I assumed Chef learned how to clean out inventories by watching you. Kind of ironic to see you post that.

I was thinking the same thing but with respect to Chef grilling me for gathering all the Pappy 15's I could find to share with other SB.com members...hopefully he'll pay it forward and help out another member in need. ;)

Oh yeah Brad, your Pappy 15's shipped today! :)

Well the difference in my area, my pull did not "clean out inventories". The two places I get mine from got a case a piece of the 15's. These same places don't get any Vintage, not even the bourbon. Little different situation so honestly not as ironic as one would think.

Thank you sir. You are a gentleman, and if you hadn't posted that pic of all the Pappy's I wouldn't have known to get them from you. So, coming from someone who saw no bottles from the spring allocation, Thank You. You did a great service for myself a handful of others on here.

I didn't buy anything today but I did pass on some whiskey that was aged for 357 minutes in the barrel. It actually said this on the label. I don't recall the brand and I guess that really doesn't matter. I was so taken aback by the "minutes" age statement the rest was lost. I've heard mention of these, but this was the first time I saw it proudly displayed on the label. It was roughly $42.

I'm confused, which happens easily.

Bob, are you selling these Pappy 15s on ebay or did you get them to share with SB.com members at cost?

All the Pappy 15's that I secured from this release were shared with members at a mutually beneficial price...There is a cost for my time, packaging, shipping, gas, etc...so no they weren't sold at exactly the price I paid at the store. But the final price was damn near what I had invested.

Let me guess...I should have driven hundreds of miles, fronted thousands of dollars, and spent 12 plus hours of my time for free?
