cowdery
Julian VanWinkle did a presentation at Whiskeyfest last week and mentioned a couple of things that fans of his VanWinkle Family Reserve 13 year old Straight Rye Whiskey might find interesting. The whiskey currently being bottled for this product is actually 15 years old.The mashbill is 51% rye, 38% corn, 11% malt. You might say it's "barely legal," i.e., it contains the minimum amount of rye to be legally called "rye whiskey." The purpose of this is to allow the sweetness of the corn to balance the rye character. Whatever, I think this is one terrific whiskey and hope it never runs out.
