Has anyone visited this location? I'm currently trying to make reservations for my b-day next week but their reservation line is a pain. Anyway, I noticed that they have a Pappy sampler on the menu for $15 and was wondering if it was worth it or if they bring out three eyedroppers  Also wanted to know about their bourbon selection and quality of food. Thanks for the help!

It's been a while since we been there (even though they are in the casino, they are not open every night....the night I won a poker tourney they weren't open for me to have a victory pour). They do have a very nice bourbon selection. We found the food to be inconsistent between visits....one time it a very food, another visit it was disappointing considering the price.

Thanks, Tom. I finally got through to someone on the reservation line and got set up for Tuesday night. I'll post some thoughts.

So, thoughts???

My family is from Shelbyville. Didn't realize this was there. Is it in that LIVE Casino?

Josh, you really need to get out more (at least somewhere other than the curling rink)!

Makers Mark lounge is in Indiana Live. My last visit there I had a very nice pour of WLW (I think 2010 release) for $8

Still would like to hear from Brian, how the food was on his visit.

Wow, that's a great price! Maybe we can all schedule a trip there sometime. I need to check it out.

Sorry to have abandoned the thread I started! I posted comments in another thread and forgot about this one.

The food was very good. My steak was massive and delicious. Everyone was happy with their selections and took home leftovers. As Tom mentioned, the bourbon selection was good and seemed reasonably priced. The Pappy sampler I ordered came with samples of 10, 12, and 15 year bottlings. Each one contained a decent amount to taste.

The experience was good enough that I'm up for going back, so let me know if a meeting starts to form!

I have every other Saturday off. Give me enough notice and I can probably squeeze in a bite and a couple of pours!

The next weekend I have off is 9/24. I have a crazy, rotating, shift schedule. I do have weekdays off as well. If anyone wants to get together during the week, I could always do that. Just depends what day and in what week it is. September is looking very busy right now for me. Other than the 24th, I could do the 13th.

Ok, just checked my calendar and we have a wedding the 24th. Man, I'm booked. I do have ALL week off on 9/26. Any day at all that week should work. Of course, this all hinges on approval from the White Tower (wife). ;-)

I work just a few miles from there. Keep me in the loop and I can likely join for dinner. The joint's gotten generally good reviews from folks I've talked to.

Have fun,

I'm 15 minutes away for Live (and its not unusual for me to be there Saturday for their poker tournament) so just let me know when.

Bummer. Well, we'll get it figured out soon enough. At this point, I think October is looking better for me. Everyone else?

Tuesdays and weekends are bad for me. Our daughter has choir practice on Tuesdays and I'm usually buried with the weekend honey-do list to make it then. Keep me informed and I can pop in after work just about any time.

have fun,

aaron

Don't remember seeing it mentioned, but as a planning note.....they are closed on Sundays and Mondays I believe.

Interesting looking at it on the web site, that it is a 200-seat steak house. I'm only familiar with the one in Louisville, which is much smaller (or so it seems to me. 200 seems pretty big.). They don't really position the Louisville one as a steak house, although steak is on the menu. I've only ever had appetizers at the bar, but they were quite good.

Is 9/29 too close to KBF for everyone? If so, we can shoot for next month.

I will be in Florida..... October for me....
