STLb,

I hope my experience isn't representative but my local store marked up the PVW15 to $94 this year. Even at that price, they've had no trouble selling bottles. Although the owner was nice enough to put a bottle aside for me, at nearly a hundred bucks I'm out of the game. He also raised the price of the VWFRR to about $70. That's steep, but I'd probably pay it if there were any bottles to be had.

My bottle of PVW15 was $79 this morning. They only had 2 bottles delivered to them, and I was on the list for one of them.

In MN the Pappys are selling for $60 (15 yr), $120 (20), and $220 (23). The Rye and Lot B are $50. The 10/90 and 10/107 are $35.

Have a bottle of WTAS headed my way thanks to a find by a newly-joined board member. I'm interested to try it side-by-side with the Tradition.

Makes me feel good that I got my 15's around $50 and the 20 in the low $90's. Rye was around 50 also.

Yesterday I got a call from a merchant saying that my VW's arrived.

I thought I'd get at least one each of the 10/107, 15yo, & 13yoRye, but I was told I could only buy one single bottle, so I chose the 15yo (wanted to see how the new one tastes), but then I managed to talk him out of a 10/107 since not many people were requesting it. The PVW15yo was $52.89 and the ORVW 10/107 was $34.65 (cash prices). I'm anxious to see how the new 15yo compares to previous releases.

Sounding from people that tried it that the Rye was the way to go. Unreal prices, im looking at a min $15 more for each of those two bottles in Atlanta or Nashville.

Heard from one of my main stores in ATL, he even had to restrict his limit for the first time in 5 years to a one bottle limit for Pappy.

$70.99 for 15

$99 for 20

$99 for the rye

Thank god I have three other orders, but told him no to the newer 15 after the new review and tasting notes have finally pushed me off. And said no to the near $100 rye since I just got 4 bottles two weeks ago. Went with the 20 and was able to get another couple due to being his #1 on the list. This has got out of control if I was set to a couple bottle limit. Might as well strickly get the 20 from this point on.

My spider sense was tingling, so I went to the store where I'd requested up to a half dozen Pappy 15s a few months back to see if they had received their allocation.

They had their product, but for whatever reason they had no 15 there. Supposed to get me the only three they can get tomorrow.

So since I'd budgeted for six, I grabbed a backup 20 and a backup rye. Lordy, this rye is ridiculously good....

Yeah I chose the P15yo over the Rye simply because I wanted to see what the new P15yo tastes like. I probably should have gone for the Rye since it was about $10 cheaper than the P15yo.

Picked up another bottle of VWFRR making 3 total for this release. Was hoping there would be more of everything available esp the rye given how much PVW I was able to find during the spring but there was a lot less in my area. Happy to have gotten what I got though.

Thought I was done but found another PVW15 and 20 and at $49.99 and $89.99 which is a little cheaper than avg around here.

I don't understand though why the Lot B is $49.99 also.

Took advantage of the partysource free shipping.

Had to get a 1.75 of the OWA and the other's went non bourbon, 2 of the Jack Daniels holiday select bottles and a 2011 ducks unlimited set single barrel. Not bad for $175.

Over the past 24 hours, I've picked up:

  • One PVW 20
  • Three PVW 15
  • Four VWFRR

I'm done for the year. Probably next year, too.

Just got a box from my Fedex man, a Mellow Corn and VOB 100 are in my possession. Add that to the VWFRR I got on Wednesday and it's been a pretty good week for me. Although I may have to finish a few bottles to make room for new arrivals:lol:

So I ended up with:

7 VWFRR

2 PVW 15 ... not as bad as I expected -- got it to "fool myself" that I'm drinking the SW or partially SW bottlings and thus preserve the stash considering we have entered renewable resource territory (i.e. PVW 15 is really no longer all that "special")

3 PVW 20

Handy 2009

The beauty of visiting far-flung liquor stores for the Pappy allocation is that I found quite a bit of shit that may be worth revisiting. And some deals. The Handy 2009 was on sale for $59. PM me if you need the West Chicago 'burbs location, they've got 20+ bottles.
