"ArKay, made by a Florida-based company called Scottish Spirits Ltd and apparently produced in factories in Panama, has a water base to which a variety of chemicals, flavours and colourings are added."

> No alcohol

> "Scottish Spirits"...made in Florida

> Factories in Panama

Wow, quite an effort to produce near whisky.

"'ArKay tastes and looks exactly like traditional whisky. It is suitable for drinking straight-up, on the rocks, or with your favourite mixers.'

So says a company spokesperson...sure....has anyone tried this stuff? Or seen it?

ArKay: The 'World's First' Alcohol-Free Whisky Smells Like 'Shoe Cleaner,' Tastes Like 'Horse Saddle'

First Posted: 1/5/12 Updated: 1/5/12

"... Our eight intrepid tasters were unanimous in that this alcohol-free whisky tastes, well, pretty awful. The smell alone was reminiscent of "shoe cleaner" and was "horribly offensive, similar to that of a litter box." The taste made one taster "want to puke." Another said, "This tastes like I'm licking a horse saddle -- I can't tell if it tastes like leather or shoe polish."

Well, chalk that up as something to avoid! Maybe they add a few drops of English Leather to some knock off Sprite.

It is for those who cannot drink alcohol...Muslims etc. who still want to have the attempted taste of the forbidden drink. If they taste this crap they will never want the real thing...maybe that is the point?

I suppose those who have quit alcohol...alcoholics etc. or have health issues might be tempted....
