We all post to the "drinking today", "purchased today", and "empty bottle" threads. What bottle did you open today, whether new or "de-bunkered"?

Last night I opened the TPS BT Wheat on Rye II that I purchased Friday night. I can't give an accurate review as I was smoking a cigar. The WSR7 I started with went nicely with the cigar, the WoR did not. The smoke mixed with the WoR led to a crazy bitter wood/smoke thing that ruined the pour for me. I'll try another pour before passing judgement. The nose was excellent, so I'm hoping it was just a bad combination.

Balcones! That Brimstone is some tasty stuff! I can't wait until we get that in our stores here in Colorado. Cool guys too. I haven't tried the Baby Blue yet, but it sounds pretty interesting.

Also... 10 bottles???

Cracked open an '88 Old Crow. This is my second ND in a week after the '87 Old Taylor the other day. I am blown away by the rich flavor in these bourbons and now I see why people speak so highly of them. Looks like I'm about to have a bunker even more full of ND.

Just opened a Lot B. picked two more up over the weekend so I didn't mind raiding the bunker.

Just opened up a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 that I got on sale a couple of weeks ago. First time I've ever tried Eagle Rare. I like it alot so far, and it seems almost as good as my two standards, ETL and EC12.

Opened an ORVW 10/107. First one I've been able to get my hands on in the last couple of years. Still one of my favorites in the "under $40" range.

After 10 plus bottles of different bourbons, I am now opening my first bottle of FR1B, current production. So far the nose is by its namesake, floral. This will be an excellent pour! The wonderful world of bourbon will never cease to amaze me, and I owe a big thanks to SB.com!

After re-reading the whole WT Rye debaucle thread, I had to console myself with some JTS Brown. Heaven Hill, don't stop making bonds!

Opened my first ever 4R product. The 2011 limited edition single barrel. Excellent whiskey.

Also opened a Glenfarclas 12yr which was surprisingly disappointing.

Opened up the Jefferson Presidential Select 18 year old (Batch #12) that I found yesterday for $90. I've never had it before and wasn't sure whether it would be worth the high price. I am impressed. Very complex and pleasant nose and taste. Incredibly long finish for a 94 proof.

Just another bottle of JW Dant, but I really like this stuff. Uncomplicated, unassuming (and 100 proof to boot!!)

Brought a new bottle of HH Gold BIB out of the bunker. I agree with the previously posted sentiment - keep the HH BIB's coming! They are tasty, affordable, and qualify as my quality baseline.

Opened a FRSB from the Liquor Barn...I should have bought more of those as it's one of the best standard bottles I've had...almost as good as the Hightower/Curtis SB!
