Unclebunk, in which state did you turn up the Dixie Dew? I'm curious because it's something I'd like to try (I really like Mellow Corn), but have never seen. I doubt either one will make it out to California, but it never hurts to hope. Is it essentially the same juice as Mellow Corn?

As much as I enjoy Mellow Corn, I think Dixie Dew is even better. It seems fuller of flavor to me and really hits the spot. BTW, a friend bought it for me on a trip to Wisconsin of all places.

I have been making to many trips down to the bunker lately.

So I went to a retailer that gives me state minimum prices, so I bought a Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Old Weller Antique and a Four Roses Single Barrel.

That should keep me away from the bunker for a while.

Unclebunk, thanks very much. Hope you enjoy the bottle of Dixie Dew, and I'll keep an eye out if I find myself in Wisconsin.

I bought almost the same bourbons on Monday except sub out the WTRB and insert a Black Maple Hill Red for me.

Haven't tried the BMH, but I found it for $35.99 so I didn't think it was a particularly bad price to see what the fuss is all about. At the very least, I'll have something for the occasional hipster house guest to drink

Ezra Brooks 7 yr/101. Haven't tried it yet, but thought it seemed "intriguing" and therefore worth a try. We'll see . . .

I never can keep myself from commenting when I read that someone has picked up a bottle of Ezra 7. IMO, it's one of the great low priced bourbons on the market. My take on it, is that it is what WT 101 used to be, could be, and should be. Too bad it's hard to find in a lot of places, though.

I first tried this about a year ago when I found a bottle at Toddy's in Bardstown. Incredible value in my opinion.

We don't get the 101prf in MI, just the 90 and the 99 Single Barrel.

Next time I'm in KY I'm going to pick one or two of those up.

Picked up a Handy for a fellow GBS member. In a rare moment of restraint, I walked out of the store with nothing for myself. First time that's happened in a while.

Splurged on a few bottles of liquid lava and picked up some Abraham Bowman 17s. Can't wait to melt my mouth.

I agree. It's crazy good and dirt cheap. I'm always amazed it's a Luxco label.

Bourbon selection in Ohio is very weak. But we do have this available. And at $13.75, its afreakin no brainer

A single of Vintage 17yr. Wanted to also grab a HW21yr, but somebody cleaned them out. :hot:

After the recent talk of Old Ezra 7yr 101, I had to pick one up for myself. Hopefully I will like it.

Count me in as another Ezra 101 groupie! I have now made the trip to Ohio three times to fill up on this amazing bourbon.

I also have a bottle of Virgin 101 (I think Joe may have mentioned it before??), haven't opened it yet, but I have high hopes for it as well.

I brought back a bottle of Ezra 101 from the Sampler. m-jolley and I did a blind taster a while back. Ezra 101, TW Samuels BIB, Evan Williams BIB and JTS Brown BIB. Ezra 101 came in last. We found it to be hot and thin, especially when compared to the HH brands. I was disappointed. I had expected more for a 101/7year. FWIW... JTS Brown came in 1st. It is my go to value pour now. Love it.

Back on topic... I picked up a PHC wheater today for the low-low price of $49.95. Sweet!

Had a nice visit to Wisconsin and picked up Fleischmann's Rye, 4R 100th, ER17, EHT Sour Mash, and a PHC Cognac. Plus the baggage handlers kept everything intact

I'm a fan of JTSB also. Ohio was closing it out last winter at about $17 a handle. I bought 2, and wish I had bought a bunch more.

FWIW, you stole the PHC.
