Busy day. The wife wanted me out of the house for a couple hours so she could clean. She gave me $100 to head north and buy some whiskey. Picked up:

ER 10

ETL

Weller 12

OWA

KC Reserve

Willet Rye

JPS 18

I now have two batches of JPS 18 (14 & 18) - Side by side a thought the 14 was slightly better. Also going to do my first SB blend. By the way, what does SB stand for???

You got all of that with $100?!? Where are you shopping? Oh, and congrats for having such a cool wife. Wish mine would send me out with a directive to buy whiskey!

Solely because I now can, I went to my local whiskey monger and picked up a HW Doublerye! yesterday. Yep, as of yesterday Aug. 12 at 12:30 PM, we can now buy booze on Sundays in my county.

No kidding. If my wife gave me a $100 to buy whiskey to leave the house while she cleaned it, I would drop dead from immediate heart failure. Savagehenry must be a love machine.

It's a wonderful thing, isn't it Joe? :toast:

It sure is! And just because, I'm going back NEXT Sunday, too! :D

I forgot that this Sunday was the first eligible one! I was a little worried about the re-vote for "unincorporated Cobb County", but glad our fellow citizens saw the light! I did my shopping on Saturday, but may need to head out next Sunday "just because"

I used some of my owe $ as well. The first 4 on the list went on her dime.

Hit a few stores in Texas, but the only interesting thing I saw was a 1 L OWA 107 in a new label (unfortunately can't take it with me on the plane, so had to pass). Wound up picking up a half pint of Kentucky Deluxe and a 50 ml bottle of Old Forester, which should at least relieve some of the boredom I'm facing tonight working at the hotel :)

Generally you can take whiskey on the plane. You have to put it in your checked luggage. Each airline may be a bit different, but American allows 5 liters of alcohol in checked luggage. Let me know if you're anywhere near Austin!

I'm just north of Dallas until Friday. I forgot about checking luggage (duh!) as I usually travel light on business. Thanks for the reminder - if I see something I've got to have, at least I have an option!

buy a suitcase!

While in Breckenridge I picked up a couple of bottles of Breckenridge Bourbon. It is actually very tasty for a two year old Bourbon.

Not bourbon, but I did find a couple bottles of WT 101 Rye.

One of my favorite value pours. Hopefully they bring it back someday.

Big Buy - Blanton's ($33), Rare Breed ($33), Willett Rye 5yr ($34x2), RittBiB ($24). I don't know why Blanton's is so low here, but since it is I can't resist.
