Let me see as the clouds lift from such a great trip. I came back from the sampler with-

3 - PHC 2012

5 - FRSB from gift shop 17yr

1 - FRSB from gift shop 14yr

2 - Pure Kentucky

1 - Larceny

Not bad, I have me a good wife to let me indulge.

Best regards, Tony

Tony

You have a great wife she was a great sport, pretty too.

Well It wasn't today but I bought some Woodford Reserve, 1792 RR, W.H. Harrison, Bulleit, Evan Williams 1783, Old Whiskey River and Wild Turkey 101 recently.

From KBF it was:

1 - Larceny 750

1 - Larceny 1.75 Family Size

5 - Heaven Hill BIB 6yr

1 - JTS Brown BIB

1 - Old Fitz BIB

1 - Old Ezra 7yr 101

1 - Johnny Drum Private Stock

1 - PHC 2012

1 - FRSm Batch Ltd. 2012

Kinda heavy on the Heaven Hill, ya say...I guess you could argue that 12 of the 13 bottles are HH or probably HH sourced whiskies... :D

As Tony so aptly said, "As the clouds lift....."

My purchases from the KBF.

3 - Larceny

2 - ORVW 10/107

1 - JTS Brown BIB

1 - TW Samuels BIB (heard a rumor it's probably going to cease to exist in the near future)

1 - HH BIB 6 yr White Label

1 - HH BIB Black and Gold Label

2 - JW Dant BIB 375's---dusty

11 - JW Dant BIB 200's---also dusty, one was consumed at the gazebo

I'm pretty happy. I didn't spend a ton of money, and I added some wheaters to my cabinet, and also restocked some BIB's.

With a little help, placed a order for two CEHT Barrel Proof's.

The hard part will be the wait. Have to wait for them to make a trek across the upper midwest.

I picked up another Evan Williams White Label Bottled In Bond, I have spent 15 bucks on worse things and I think I came out way ahead on this purchase.

Picked up a Willett 5 year rye today, and, of all things, a Mellow Corn BiB. I have a couple of other things on my list but I need to find time to get to two more stores to get them.

I'll have to check when I get home, but from memory, the MC looks a lot darker than the one I got from the Party Source last winter.

I couldn't agree with you more Oscar. Good price on a pretty decent bourbon.

Was the MC in state?

I've been nursing a bottle that I picked up from IL about a year ago. Picked up another within the last week. Nice to know if it's now a bit more local.

Yes, at a store I think you're familiar with. Initials are SLL. I'd never seen it in this market before.

Quite familiar- Templeton there also?

I'm with you on it, saw a crapload of in this past weekend in Chicago at multiple stores, if it was a lot less, maybe, but not for what it is.

Got a free bottle of it from my sister last year. Appreciated the gift as it wasn't something local, but was nothing special to it.

Templeton was there, but I wsaw it at a couple of other places too. The MC is on sale for $10.99 for a liter. If I though I would drink more of it I would have bought more, but corn whiskey is a pretty occasional craving for me.

Grabbed a HW American Prairie Reserve on a whim. Anyone else tried this one? Supposed to be a blend Of 6 year LDI and 10 year four roses.

I picked one up shortly after it came out, have gone through half the bottle, and I like it. I get a lot of rye spice from it, which I take to mean that the 10 year old Four Roses is showing up nicely in the vatting. What do you think of it?

I picked up a 1.75 of a BT private barrel selection today.

I plan on cracking it this weekend and will let you know. Thanks for the notes.

My Party Source order came in today. I have bought from them before on site and they are great, but wow, their shipping is awesome. They wrap them tight in bubble wrap, individually packaged. I think a Tank could drive over the box and not do any damage. Super impressed and glad I'll have some AAA 10 yr, Very Very Old Scout, 4RSB'12 and 4RSB TPS to sip on this weekend. The finance is going out of town this weekend, so I need something to go with my football.

I carted a mixed case at TPS online, but had to put it all back when I saw the shipping cost to Hawaii - ouch! Lotta stuff I want to try, but I'm a budget shopper. Plan B - I'll talk to some retailers about increasing selection.
