Maker's Mark Question Part II

I found the closed thread and maybe this is already answered there.

I found several bottles at one store that have Blue and silver/grey wax. The label is standard and doesn't say anything different. Based on the closed thread it could mean that it signifies the Dallas Cowboys. I have been to other liquor stores in the area in the past few months and have never seen it. These were at some local store about 50 miles outside the city, so they could be older bottles.

Any ideas? I can post photos if need be.

MM is a real wax whore...they will special dip a color combination for just about anyone.

Special edition bottle to celebrate the Maverick's championship. Was advertised locally in liquor stores for a while.

As ox mentioned, many of these editions are produced for a variety of hallmarks. The juice remains the same.

I was at the distillery a few weeks ago and they had several bottles triple dipped in red white and blue. Pretty neat actually, but not worth the extra dollars IMHO.

In the fall around here we often get them in Green & White and Maize & Blue. How much were they charging for the Red, White & Blue ones?

Actually these bottles were cheap. I got it for 24 bux. That's pretty standard for MM.

Besides different colors of wax, I've also seen a Christmas card themed label. They're all regular MM inside. I don't think MM has released anything but their standard version for many years.

I have a 46 with blue and white wax. It was done for UKs NCAA bball championship last year.

That's the extent of my Makers collection.

I have the green and white one that they do here, and now that I have a kid at UofM I will get the maize and blue one.

My buddy just brought me a bottle from the Px on his base. Regular red wax but a digital camo label with a dog tag around the neck. Same stuff inside but kind of a cool package.

I have a 1 Liter "Slam Dunk" bottle. Supposedly the "Slam Dunk" bottles are pretty rare. I think they do 2 bottles for every 90 cases or something like that. Only reason I was able to get my hands on one is because I work in a liquor store. Not sure if it's truly worth anything.

Yeah, I haven't seen any of those...but then I am not looking all that hard. it's possible to get lucky here in Texas. MM is ALL over the place.

I believe that all of the wax is made in Noblesville, Indiana. I forget the name of the company...but if I remember correctly there are about 50 different colors available. At one time you could make your own "slam dunk" bottle in the gift shop. As far as value...it's all up to the person that has it, but some people do collect these. Rarity is only limited to how often they feel like making a new "special" color. There will most likely be a price increase soon as they are short on production, so the value will certainly increase by at least that amount. I wouldn't be surprised to see about $5 on a 750ml. That being said, I know that I prefer my makers bottle one way...open. So the wax color or amount make little difference to me.

Ok, as the resident "Makers Guy" here, a few comments. There are MANY different bottles with various wax colors. (see www.makersmarkbottles,com) All have the same juice.
