thiemb
Trying out the V17. A very tasty old wheater. Fantastic nose and lots of butterscotch and vanilla. I've got the itch to go grab one or two more for the bunker.

BFerguson
nothing too excited for the past week, been spending time with a last years EWSB. I'd call it uncomplicated, but wonderfully simple. this particular bottle is just hitting a point to be where I want just want something good, and inexpensive to pour. And by the 1/4 bottle left, it has done that just fine. Now I just need to go back to the store and get some more, i think they have the rest of the same barrel of this one.B

tanstaafl2
I've been making cocktails with Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, it is really delightful stuff. Certainly sweet, but not sickeningly so. I've been putting it in about 4:1, usually with a BIB, but tonight with AAA, which made it quite sweet. I also added a drip of Jerry Thomas Bitters, which added a little... well, bitter flavor. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this Curacao: it's worthing having on your bar.

WAINWRIGHT
PHC Cognac, this is a bottle I go back and forth about how I feel about it.I think it's the weakest showing of the line and definitely a "mood" pour, but tonight it's pretty damn nice. That's why it's nice and advantageous to have multiple bottles opened and ready at the pour. We never know what might hit the wheelhouse on any given night. Always good to "pollinate" the shelf for that special pour.Currently working on VW Lot 'B' to start the Bourbon side of the evening.

smokinjoe
A healthy pour of Mc Scrooge's Private Selection of 7 yr OWA paper label. Massive chocolate covered cherries. Just a spectacular whiskey. I've sampled probably 15+ different private selections of OWA over the years, and all have been wonderful. But, none match the...lusciousness of this barrel. And it's not easy for me to say that, as BT is pumping out terrific wheated whiskey for this brand. They're ALL honey barrels, it seems!
