OscarV
I also had a 2012 WT Kentucky Spirit followed by a Russell's Reserve Single Barrel. The RR1B just wasn't up to snuff after what I previousley thought was a mediocre WTKS but now I think I need to revisit both.Maybe tomorrow with a fresh palate, hmmm is WTKS making a come back? MyOldKyDram
Head to head, regular OWA 107 vs TPS OWA. The TPS bottling takes it in terms of nose and finish, while I'd give the standard the edge in flavor, mouthfeel. Bit of a push, really. Both are can't go wrong offerings. qman22
Just had my 1st pour of OGD BiB from the 1970s. Great stuff! Very smooth and flavorful, tastes older than the current version which I also like. I need to get a current bottle to do a side by side tasting

smknjoe
I assume you are talking about wiskey rocks for chilling? Had some OGD BIB last night and it was good, but I like the 114 better.
smokinjoe
Enjoying a different take on the usual earthiness of Buffalo Trace. Tonight, there is something with my palate that is sensing a blood orange tinge late on the sip and lingering well into a long finish. It's quite nice. Buffalo Trace is just a really sound whiskey. thiemb
PHC '12 and now some FR LE SmB 2012. I'm really wishing that I had bought more than 2 bottles of this when I had the chance.
Mikede1285
Since John Hansell gave it American Whiskey of the year today, I'm having the last pour of my first bottle of the FR 2012 SmB while I watch Justified this evening. Really glad I picked up several of these and I hope I get lucky enough to come across another.
Curtisc84
I assume you are talking about wiskey rocks for chilling? Yes, my gf bought me the latex ice cube tray that holds 6 large ice cubes. Even if you're not a fan of the large cubes, I feel that the latex trays are the way to go. She also purchased a couple of molds that make large round cubes which are fun. I found a few bottles at a local store last week so I grabbed another to hold me over until the 2013 comes out. =) Always optimistic.

stevegoz
Had a neat pour of the Henry McKenna 10-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon last night. So aggressively spicy that it lasted for almost an entire movie. Small sips, small sips....
Brisko
4 Roses Yellow Label. Stopped by the store to get some wine for my wife and couldn't help but leave with something for me. I'd not had the modern iteration of YL and I was expecting it to be thinner. Probably one of the best 80 proofers I have tasted.

It is not something I would generally reach for this time of year, but it is a great bourbon to whip out when just kicking back on the weekend with some friends or when you just want an easy drinker. Too bad they can't get the proof up a bit though.

RT Fan
Picked up a bottle of Larceny and cracked it open. A very nice wheater, enjoyable both neat & over ice. I preferred it with just a few cubes rather than a full glass of ice. I liked it better than Makers Mark, although not as much as Weller's Antique. A nice addition to the cabinet & one I will certainly buy again. Thanks to HH for putting out a quality product at a fair price point.
drunk
During her visit to Madison, WI, my lovely wife bought me a bottle of locally made Yahara Bay whiskey, and it is plain awful. Has to be the worst whiskey I've had. It's the thought that counts, so I let her stay. hahaI can't find much info on it other than it being a four grain whiskey, but it can't be more than a year or two old. Tried to make an old fashioned, heavy on the bitters last night, and its youth still managed to rear its ugly head.
OscarV
Doin' a side-by-side with Russell's Reserve Single Barrel and Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit.Neither one is hittin' the dope spot, maybe I better hit the cronic, the Remy Martin and my soda pop.**=lifted from Dre

gburger
I received a bottle of Noah's Mill for Christmas. First off this was one bourbon I have not tried or have ever purchased. I think the wine bottle look put me off a bit in the stores. How could this be a real bourbon in a wine bottle?I have over 100 opened bottles in my room and sometimes it is a bit overwhelming to choose what to enjoy. So last night I opened the Noah's and tried it. A 15 year old 114 proof bourbon. I seem to enjoy the higher proof bourbons, Booker's, Col. Taylor Single barrel, G.T. Stagg, W.L. Weller, etc. This bottle did not disappoint me at all. After this bottle is gone I will be getting another one. This goes into my good bottle rotation on my bar top and at a great price I may add. KySalesRep
Drinking some OF Bonded DSP 414 that I found on a dusty hunt the other day.
