I've been away from bourbon for a while, but this morning I had a nice little pour of PHC10. This seems to be my AM go to pour. I don't have to wonder why!

When I first tried that bottle it was too hot for me, as are all 4R when I first open them (SmB Std,, SB Std., and 2 different SmB LE) and I did add water. I like it both ways really and any way you drink it will probably be good!

On a side note: I was close to deciding I HATED the std. 4R SmB, but after being open for a few months it has turned into a very agreeable pour. Dont' know if it was the whiskey or me that changed...

So far this is the same for me. Just opened it last night and after adding a little water tonight.... just tasty! We will see in a month or so how this bottle transforms!

Gave some thought as to what I would have for the first drink of the evening and the idea of Old Grand Dad popped into my head.

A little ORVW 10/107.

I prefer the old-timey bottle and label designs over the recent designs like OWA and Weller SR.

I poured a mini bottle of Kirkland's bourbon that I saved from months back - it was a bit tastier than before.

Have decided to mix up a Barton based cocktail for lunch using Pomegranate liqueur, triple sec and ginger ale. It's gonna be a red day.

Here's a fun game: I asked my lady friend to pour a couple fingers of any of my open 30+ bottles of whiskies to see if I could guess it on a blind taste. I guessed PHC 12, and it turned out to be PHC 10. I was a bit giddy that I got that close.

Sipping on some WLW at Merchant in Madison, WI before the Distill America tasting tonight.

Nice place. Gets put on my must come back list.

Starting the night with a little Binny's FR OESV...I've got a 2011 Pappy 15 pour sitting next to me ready to enter the glass! :)

Celebrating the birth of my second son, Parker, with a nice pour of the 2012 PHC. Great way to end an awesome, but very long day.

Thanks guys! Not sure if it has something to do with the occasion or not, but this pour couldn't be more enjoyable at the moment. May have to pick up another bottle to share with the little guy in 21 years!

You couldn't pick a better bottle to save for him. Congratulations!
