Celebrating the birth of my second son, Parker, with a nice pour of the 2012 PHC. Great way to end an awesome, but very long day.

Congrats! :)

Had more than usual tonight, as I started a bit earlier than I usually do. Two pours of Weller 12yr, two pours of Fighting Cock 103, one pour of OWA. Last few were while watching "Clue" on Netflix with the wifey.

Had some fabulous drams with the GBS last night including some Weller Centennial, FR Marriage 2008, EC 20 . . . yet I think the most memorable may have been the exotic Bourbon Supreme! Thanks Joe for being such a generous host as always!!

I can't even remember all the different bottles I got to sample at the spectacular GBS event last night but I do remember that Weller Centennial being truly special.

And I think I can safely say the Woodford Sonoma-Cutrer Finish made that Bourbon Supreme seem like a truly premium bottle...

My thanks to Joe as well for hosting and laying out a tremendous display of bourbon!

Cracked open a BTEC 19 year Giant French Oak Barrel. My first BTEC, but it's very nice! I had some dejavu while tasting it, and poured some FR SmB 2012 next to it. The nose and palate are near identical. I paid $54 for the 375ml, so I don't know if I could justify this as something to stock up on, but I would label it a great success for the experiment.

Which one did you go to? The one on Kirby?

Going to do a side by side with an off-the-shelf OWA later this afternoon.

Yep Joe, the one on Kirby. Drinking the standard OWA now. While a very good pour, not as sweet or caramelly as the SB

Not a cloud in the sky, 64 degrees , and I'm on the chaise in the backyard soaking up the sun with a WTRR 10 yr 101 over some crushed ice. Nice way to spend a Sunday. What makes it a perfect way to spend a Sunday, is that I'm listening to the Braves on the radio, too. Who cares they're down 7-1.

Wasn't today, and sadly didn't get to drink it, I just couldn't pull myself to order it.

But did get to take a very long nose from the bottle the St George XXX.

That was a small whiff of heaven if even there was one.
