It's pretty d@mned good... It evolved to this point because I was cutting the WLW with H2O and then had read of people combining it WSR or Weller12 - when I saw that, I had some SB blend already and decided to vat it all together in a 375ml bottle for a few weeks. May try a 1:1 blend of WLW '12:OWA next.

Large pour of Weller 12yr while playing in weekly poker tournament last night. Made final table and finished 5th (Out of 30+).

Sounds interesting, I've never tried mixing Bourbons like that.

This has been one of the best tools I have learned from this board. Not to be afraid of trying some different combinations. I've found certain profiles to not be so great for mingling (to my taste)--Woodford, EC 12, and sorry Squire, OGD BIB.

The Weller line has been a slam dunk. The well-known SB blend is fantastic, either on its own, or as a base for other wrinkles as ChainWhip prepared. Staying within the wheated family, I've added the Vintage 17 wheater to the SB blend with great results, adding a bit more depth, age and richness. Branching out, I've added WSR to a somewhat thin and spicy FRSB, for another great result. It's fun, and worth a try sometimes.

Last night, had a pour of standard FRSB--a very flavorful, balanced barrel. Delicious, and a steal at $30.

Are you sure you didn't mean to post this in the apocalypse thread? That sounds like a fine night savagehenry.

Perhaps I am using the wrong abbreviation. Very Special Old Fitz 12 year is what I'm referring to which I thought was a fairly easy Heaven Hill produced bottle to find, though mine does have the BHC sticker.

I'm enjoying a Barton Dreamsicle (working title) the basic elements of which are Barton, orange and vanilla. This cocktail shows promise.

My bad, I read that as VOF, hence the confusion. Though around these parts just seeing VSOF12 is like a dodo bird sighting. Forget about HH BiB too.

I'm following squire's lead and having an afternoon cocktail - VOB 6/90 old-fashioned, brown sugar cube, two dashes Angostura bitters, one dash Reagan's orange bitters, a peeled wedge of orange. Now that's the ticket! Cheers!

Contemplating the predicted two feet of snowfall coming my way...

FR1B, store-selected OESO recipe by Julio's Liquors, sadly this bottle is coming to an end, and I'll have to go in Worcester to get another one.

Really wish that I would have bought one or two of these at Binny's when I had the chance. I waited too long to pull the trigger and they were gone.

We tried these at the get together in November and enjoyed them thoroughly, trust me they sold quite a few of them that night and they didn't stick around long!

I am loosening up for a ballroom dance lesson tonight (my wife and I have taken that up) with a generous pour of AAA.

Snow is really starting to accumulate out here. Warming up with a pour of a Willett 20 year old bourbon I picked up at K&L in LA a couple years back. I often forget about this one, seems to change every time I come back to it. I can't decide if its a wheater or not, but itnis really soft on the palate at over 90 proof. The exciting thing about not knowing what's in the bottle is you really have to pay attention to the juice, with no bias. I'm having fun :drinking:
