Not sure where you are in Georgia but maybe the GBS guys can guide you to some?

It doesn't generally stay on the shelf long in Atlanta and Batch 5 has been out for a week or two now so you would probably need a little luck to find one at present.

I am still amazed with it. already six releases in a short period of time and many gift shop versions.

HH knocks it out of the park with this whiskey. $40-$45 for a 12yr old barrel proof bottle of brown liquid gold...amazing!!

tiger, pretty sure this is the first I've heard of the 6th release, what's the proof on the latest?

I've been in a fair few liquor stores across the country by now.

I have never once seen ECBP on a store shelf. Maybe I saw it in the HH gift shop before I knew what I was looking at.

I tried to ask for some recently, and my store manager said that he experienced a "whoops, we had some, but there was an error and they all went one place" story from his distributor.

Fortunately, with ECBP there are next releases down the trail.

It's really not a 'rare' artifact IME over the past year of it bring on the market. If you do your homework you can figure out how and when HH is dumping and distributing. And if I can buy a case (3) online, then I assume anyone can. I bought my most recent last week, just asked the friendly feller if he had seen any recently - and boom he grabs one from the back.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure the #4 batch passed this market entirely. Who knows why.

As with most bourbon, it depends on where you are. I haven't seen any on shelves around here since last September and we can't buy liquor on-line here. I've had to resort to having other SB members "mule" bottles to me.

Edit: Admittedly though, I haven't looked that hard for any since the first of the year. So, it's likely I just missed a release or two by not staying on the ball.

we can't buy liquor on-line.

What does this even mean?

And of course it's market-dependent as well as store dependent. A small store here had never even heard of it before I mentioned it. A few weeks later it was on the shelf. One cannot expect the market just to come to them, you gotta get your ass out there and earn it in many cases.

Doing your homework is important in order to obtain highly allocated bottles of anything. Being in the distribution zone(s) is another piece of the puzzle. Add some good timing, a relationship with a liquor store and dumb luck then one might procure a bottle of what they are looking for.

Show me a liquor store that ships to Texas.

That bad, eh? Well it serves you right for stealing all the Weller 12. :D

But you'd think a huge chain like Spec's or Goody could get a few bottles of the stuff.

Five releases and I have only found two on the shelf in Indiana. One was at a small shop and I found it based on a tip from a SBer. The other I happened to walk into while visiting NE Indiana. It normally doesn't make the shelf in Indiana.

I love this offering! Kind of wrong thread but thought it be nice to be here.

Another one down the drain taken with the others still not yet in the dumpster. Maybe saving the empties and create a backdrop in my new bar space later on

This is my go to every day pour. Will always start with one or two before going to the others if that. :)

Big final pour with melted ice but sometimes drink with iced and it's syrupy and yummy if I can't wait.

Hey tiger, is the light label a gift shop offering?

I'd take ECBP over W12 any day, but I'm sure many others share your sentiment.

...and they do, or have, I just don't get there quick enough I guess. Seriously though, I haven't heard much at all about ECBP around here which leads me to believe that we either are not getting very much of it (for whatever reason) or I'm just not cool enough to be kept in-the-loop anymore. Probably, the latter...

I think if I had that many bottles, it would absolutely be my daily pour. I can count on one hand the number of whiskies in my cabinet I would choose over this if I had to pick a desert island/only-bottle-you-can-have-again type thing. Well done!

I recently found another bottle, this time it's the 137 (second batch?) . Pretty good, different than the first batch. Less complex, but very tasty.

I'm glad I got a few in NJ out of sheer luck. I searched here in CO and there's nothing listed for over 200 miles.

I wonder if I can find a place around here with enough volume and few enough HH/ECBP drinkers to get another bottle..
