Auracom
I've been playing around with Batch 6 downproofing, both with water and regular EC12, and so far I can't drop the alcohol without losing too much depth... particularly in the finish. Anyone have a good ratio for this batch?I'm not convinced this batch is quite up to par yet, but I'm enjoying it no doubt.
greatgoo
Can't remember the last time I put a ice cube in my drink, but did it tonight with my ECBP. I think I prefer this juice with one ice cube . Yummy.
The Black Tot
I've got a strange feeling that I'm going to find my first ECBP bottle soon... I got, like, a fifth sense about it.

GerryM
Batch 6 is out in MA. Price is creeping up at $60.
tanstaafl2
Heaven Hill rep wandered in to our Wednesday tasting yesterday with the new PHC (which we were already enjoying. Kind of annoying since we could have been drinking his instead of mine!), EC23 and the ECBP Batch 6 in tow. I was quite surprised how pleasant the EC23 (barrel 27 I think) was and the ECBP was excellent and pretty drinkable even at full proof. A touch of water did help though. Now we just have to hope a few of the ECBP make it to the shelf. And it is a bit annoying that the EC23 was good because now I may have to go look for one... bourbonfoot
I managed to pick up a bottle, then got a bottle of batch 6 from a friend as a birthday gift. I'll try to pop it open tonight. I find it hard to do comparisons with ECBP as the proof is so high it can get away from you quick!
Jazz Nut
I just picked up two bottles in the Minneapolis area. I can't wait to open one up, but have many bottles open on the bar already!

bicktrav
Saw one the other day here in SoCal priced at $129. It seems like every time it reappears the price rises.
jeffrey r
That is not a price rise, that is gouging, plain and simple.
smokinjoe
That is not a price rise, that is gouging, plain and simple.Yes. Thanks for pointing that out, Jeffrey. And to take it further, it has absolutely nothing to do with Heaven Hill, nor the legitimacy of the brand.
squire
Oh for Heavens sake Joe, take a breath. Jeffrey's statement that $129 for ECBP is gouging is on topic and I agree with him.

jeffrey r
Yes, my intent was "gouging by the retailer". Being that it pretty common knowledge that ECBP is supposed to be in the $50 range, I thought it went without saying that $129 for a bottle does not trace back to HH. bicktrav
It is most definitely gouging. But $129 is a price rise even for the gougers. The same gouging store had it a few months back for $99. They must have sold through it pretty fast at that price, so they figured they're going to mark it even higher next time around. Hence $129. jeffrey r
No worries at all. And I'll have a toast with a pour of ECBP when I get home tonight, in honor of having several bottles around, all purchased right in that $50 range. HH deserves all the kudos they can get for this release--definitely not any bad vibes.
HP12
Just got around to cracking a ECBP batch #4. Compared to batch 1 which started it all, batch 1 is far superior in flavor.
