Bakers from an airline bottle I got awhile back. Not great, but its making the fact my hotel room only has 3 tv channels better. That's what I get for booking on points. I get better service when I'm a Priceline customer. Ha!

Putting the finishing touches on a HH White Label. Good to the last drop, just like the label says.

I had the ECBP for the first time tonight, neat first, then with some water to achieve about 110 pf. Frankly, I am surprised how different it tastes than the regular 94 pf 12 yr. Even neat it was quite smooth, but left my tongue pretty tingley. The main difference between the BP and the 94 pf for me was the wood influence. Instead of the sweet, resiny wood flavor of the 94, the BP was astringent and extra charry-- maybe some airtime will even out the flavors, which were very intense, even with a splash. Very Stag-like, only a little spicier.

Started with some Basil Hayden, and moved onto Vintage 17 & Noah's Mill. A great night home alone :)

Is that ceramic decanter of Old Fitz Prime from the South Carolina tricentennial? If so, when I went to my buddy's wedding in South Carolina he had the same one sitting on a shelf in his bakery. His was empty, sadly, but I remember pulling it down and wondering why he had it sitting in his bakery. He told me people notice it all the time and comment on it. Proof that southerners as a whole have a much better sense of whiskey than we New Englanders.

Yes sir, it is the same decanter. I have to give the whiskey a few weeks and try it again, it is not bad but not great but that is typical of all the 60s/70s bottles. After a few weeks they have all improved.

Someone brought one of these to Bardstown on Wednesday night and it was gone by Thursday morning. It's the kind of bourbon you can drink all night. Cherry cordial and caramel nose with a surprisingly thick mouthfeel. Overall, a sweet bourbon with more oak than you'd expect on a 7 year old, but the palate is a tad restrained. It's no ORVW 15, but it's good for what it is and is consistent with the better Old Fitz Prime's I've had.

Out with a friend in Chicago last night, inspired by squire I had a nice VOB. Not exactly in my preferred flavor profile, but had to get a pour when I saw it and enjoyed it quite a bit.

A local gas staion always has the best ice.

They must sell a lot because from it's appearance it doesn't look like it has melted and refroze and have those re-frozen flakes on the cubes.

This is important when making a cocktail or just splashing some whiskey on it.

I picked up a fresh bag today and I am sippin' on some OWA Brass MUg selection on the rocks.

I enjoyed the sweetness, It just had an incredibly dry finish which I usually get when I have just opened an older bottle. Could have also been my palate as allergy season is just kicking in around my area.

Cracked my Binnys Willett 21yr #3633 to share with some folks after a store pick ER tasting.

IT was nothing like I expected, if blind tasting, would not have come close to guessing it was that old, seems more youthful, that it states.

Had another glass last night, needs time to open in bottle, nice cherries on the nose starting to form, compared to the other evening. Dry tasting, short finish. First time the description of either cedar or pencil shavings comes to mind-weird, but that what it seems like.

Very unique. Quite enjoyable. Looking forward to time with this one. Really should try and get another one of these........
