With cocktail hour fast approaching I'm considering what I will have and Old Grand Dad springs to mind.

It has been an on-the-rocks day here: EWB, EWB 7yr, EW 1783 10yr, pre-fire HH Dant, and CEHT Barrel Proof, all on the rocks. Getting ready to grill some lime-cilantro flank steak with an as-yet-undecided pour. It's a good day off!

I had some WSR (paper label) and ORVW 107 last night. Most often that bottle of WSR sits on the back of my shelf without much love, but it's really not too bad. I just like others better.

I need some normal Dixie weather down here. Rain and 50 degree temps in May ain't cuttin' it. So, in hopin' I can get it going', I'm startin' the evening with an Evan Williams 7yr 90 proof "Antebellum Decanter". Come on, 90's!!...Sheeze, I'll take 70......

Watching the Bulls/Heat and enjoing some Old Fitz 90pr from 1981...I have a feeling I'm going to have to enjoy the bourbon as I'm guessing I'm not going to enjoy the end result of this game! :(

If it ends how it began, we'll be happy! I'm going to try to be optimistic until I get too angry. I started with some [still] lackluster JPS18 and now I'm finding much more satisfaction tossing back some HH 6yo BiB.

A healthy pour of Noah's Mill with a splash while watching the comeback of the Spurs against the Warriors. Should get me through overtime.

Had three pours tonight. KC:SB and then a 3:1 KC:SB and EWB blend (to kill off the KCSB bottle) while watching Game of Thrones (what a damn fine show that is).... then just EWB to cap off the night.

Finished the night with some Larceny, does not even compare to the FRSB.

Best regards, Tony

Last night I had a 1:1 vatting of EC12 and ECBP, which works out to just about 114 proof. Turned out very well, not too hot but still plenty of the ECBP's rich flavors and cinnamon finish. It was neat to watch the dark ECBP blend into the much lighter EC12.

I tried a few new bourbons for me over the weekend. I had my first experience with Buffalo Trace, Larceny, WT Rare Breed, Elijah Craig 12, and Sazerac Rye. All were enjoyable. I was probably most surprised by the EC12. It was excellent and surpassed my expectations I had based on the price.

Meeting after work-tried for the first time pours of Basil Hayden's and Bookers. Thank goodness I had the BH first at 80 proof followed by the Bookers at whatever it was. Both Beams but night and day. Definitely enjoyed the Bookers more than the BH, but probably won't rush out to buy a bottle of either.

Starting the night with some 2008 ORVW 10/07 and I'll most likely finish with some Willett R/E 17yr 133.2 as that is the only other sample I brought with me! :)
