Good ol' FR1B for me last night and I think I'll hit the same again this evening. Such divine whiskey for under $35!

OF Signature 100. First time w this one. Not bad, rye spice and barrel on the palate and maraschino cherry on the finish. Bought a baby one on the advice of several on here just to do a test drive.

I realized as I hit send that I was being Captain Obvious with that. Now you need to taste them both blind and see if you can pick 'em.

I think I could, though they are very similar. I found the PHC a bit one note though, and this Willet is definitely smoother and a little more nuanced.

OGD BiB, KC, and 4R sm btch... I still like the 4R better than just about anything.

The Wife surprised me with a very well made FR1B LE 2012 old fashioned. It's my normal "recipe", but cocktails always taste better when someone else makes it.

Phil I'm reasonably familiar with the Weller brand as it has evolved over the years but must admit to a bit of bias because I started drinking the brand when Pappy was still alive.

I have no doubt that you have drunk your share of exceptional whiskey through the years squire. Present day included. Just pokin a little good natured ribbing on your "settled in ways". Which I think is cool, certainly didn't mean to offend..

Working on a bottle of WT 101. Very nice bourbon, especially on sale at $19.99. I think the mouthfeel on this is exceptional. Yesterday was fairly warm in the afternoon so I thought maybe I should try a cube of ice in it.....real bad idea if you ask me. Totally ruined the mouthfeel, I won't do that again.

Last night I had my wife pour me a blind flight of TPS selections of Four Roses OESO, OESK, and Smooth Ambler Old Scout 10 year old (which is 21% rye DSP-IN-1 bourbon.) I felt like it would be an interesting comparison thanks to similar heritage and mashbill. All three pours were enjoyable but the "blind" factor immediately went out the window; it was very clear which of the pours was from which Lawrenceburg, just from nosing.

I hate to declare a winner in these sorts of things but the winner was OESO. And me, for getting to sip on some great barrel proof selections.

Phil there is a certain clarity in finding what I like and sticking to it but if someone else is pouring . . .

I did the wheat thing last night, with VSOF 12, W 12 and 1843, but fell asleep in the chair watching the Spurs game so didn't record it until this morning.

A dram of Willett Pot Still - another step on the quest to empty the bottle

First pour and taste of BT - meh. Good quality, but lacking in flavor. Not much on the nose. Smooth with a tickle of rye spice. First pours are often misleading, though.

Enjoying a healthy mixture of ECBP and EC12. Delicious. Ready to settle in for some original six hockey. Go Wngs!
