I have never tried this but have seen it. Just curious, what would you compare to?

Good question! Let me get back to you on that. It is a typical, rye bourbon, but a single barrel so it varies (from what I understand - this is the first bottle I've bought, and likely the last). Nothing wrong with it, but I paid for the bottle basically. It tastes to me like a $20 bourbon, maybe a cross between a Wild Turkey 101 and Old Forrester?

4Roses Yellow Label, two fingers straight up, and it was fantastic.

One of the best bangs for your bucks in bourbon.

I've had some PHC '12 and OWA over the past few nights. I really like PHC '12. Maybe I should crack open some ETL this week...

Did a quick headcount and poured some Old Grand Dad.

Tomorrow night, OGD 114, for sure. It's been a long time, and the bottle I have is too damn full.

Like findin' cash in a coat pocket, stumbled upon an Old Ezra 7yr 101 in the cupboard. Great sippin' whiskey on a gorgeous night here, Down South. However, the Braves are in a rain delay...again...and I gots lots to do tomorrow, so can't be up late. I hope that rain moves out of there, but I don't come this way...

First pour was some EC12, then onto some Willet. Think I may finish with W12. Need to find another bottle of that soon. And the Tigers need to hold on and beat Cleveland.

FR Secretariat and PHC Mix of mashbills. The FR Sec is much smoother and sweeter but the PHC as always is wonderful!

Depending on who ya talk to, I'm finishing up the evening with either the "Old Maid", or the "Elegantly aging movie star"...2004 Eagle Rare 17, neat in the Reidel bourbon glass. Tonight, as in most nights that I drink this whiskey, it's definitely more the latter. Very Michelle Pfeifferish.

After a week of no alcohol (medication for banged up knee said NO!) I jumped in with an HH lineup. EC12, ECBP, HMcKSB10, and EzraB12.

Mighty yummy juice.

Gave some wheat a chance last night. OWA 7 year whith a light splash of water and some Maker's 46. The OWA was the winner. I miss my rye spice a little but the proof of the OWA gave it the right mouthfeel. Good sweetness. Maker's 46 is good but a little odd to me. I think I will pass in the future at its full price.

Had a small pour of OGD114 after lunch. Just to whet the whistle, as the saying goes.

It does have an interesting yeasty flavor that most others seem to lack.

2002 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon while getting the house ready for Littlesmokinjoe's 8th Grade Graduation Party tomorrow. These are moments when you get all misty and think that your lil baby is going to High School...but is quickly tempered by the idea that you can start counting the days until you can finally ship her out to college...:D

Decided to reach into the cabinet and grab the first thing I touched, turned out to be Old Grand Dad.

Hey Joe, just think of the bliss when she moves back in after college with her jobless husband in tow.

EC12 again for me tonight. I'll change it up for pour number 2. OGD with a little ginger ale oughta do it. If Squire could conjure a way to earn affiliate/marketing dollars...
