EWSB 03. I've enjoyed every new bottle more than the last.

I have one of those. It's my first EWSB and I'm very impressed with it.

I have never tried any four roses bourbon. It is funny, the bourbon snob in me says to try small batch or single barrel first. However, the education that I have received on this board says to try Yellow Label first and see where that takes me. I like the idea of all 10 mixes plus a few more at different ages. The price makes it a pretty logical choice.

Trying my first pour of Larceny tonight. I really like it. I think my sweet spot is 90 to 95 proof.

Definitely give it a go. It's like a mix of all their different barrels, watered down to 80 proof. It is really delicious and mild.

Moved on to 4R OBSF. Never been my favorite but damn is it ever drinking good tonight.

I had a 2011 LE SB awhile back. It was an OBSQ. I really enjoyed it and it didn't have a very long life. My question/concern is TPS has this same recipe and the age is identical, right at 12 years. Anyway is FR repeatable? I know every barrel has its nuances but would I be as happy or was the 2011 LE simply exceptional and would the TPS bottle be a disappointment? Sorry if I should put this question somewhere else.

I just opened a ECBP. It is really nice. Full nose and very flavorful. Not a lot of alcohol burn. I'll buy more if I can find it.

Drinking some Kenwood Liquors EC18 barreled on 1/29/92...a very tasty pour...wish there were more of these to be had! :(

Of course there is going to be variation, especially with single barrels, but 4R seems to be more consistent than pretty much anyone else IMO. I wouldn't hesitate to give it a go. Especially because the one thing that isn't identical is the price.

Thanks for the help. I may wait on the TPS purchase. My wife just surprised me with a trip to the bourbon trail in July. Woohoo!!

You'll have to ask Marc, Justin, Steve, Ben, Tom, or Greg what they thought of the F yeast...it was the only bourbon all night that all of us had in the glass at the same time! :D

pouring a '02 kenwood liquors EWSB tonight. great selection from those guys.

Not to brag but that is what we selected for our private barrels coming very soon. F yeast, both mashbills and a month shy of 11 years old. OBSF should clock in around 120 proof. and OESF 110 proof.

Cant wait.

4RLE 2012. So yummy! I'm still so surprised how much I like it and how easy and smooth with a nice sweetness and taste. Again with a little ice.

A pour from a newly cracked, family size VOBBIB (decanted into the everyday size). This great value bourbon has never tasted better. So clean on the nose, and caramel dipped apple (greenish on the apple) over the palate. A great medium oak influence on the finish. This whiskey is in my wheelhouse, right now. But then again, it never really misses there.
