Had some WSR last night. Say what you want, I have become a born-again believer in the wheater air-time effect. This stuff has gone from light sweetness, lemon, and alcohol to something much richer. I got that BT grassiness which, in moderation, I like a lot.

Last night, had some GTS'12 on my Death Star ice ball - surprised by how sweet this was on the rocks.

Followed that up with some 4RSmBLE'12

Just had a sip of Fighting Cock to taste it.

First impression, hot & sweet, but not overly sweet. The 103 proof really does make it hot.

I followed it with a sip of OGD114 just for comparison.

OGD is a bit hotter (higher alc, so that makes sense) but not as sweet, and has a different flavor profile overall, of course. It has more of a rye flavor, to me.

Polishing off a couple of 200ml bottles. Old Charter "The Classic 90" and Evan Williams black label. I have to say the OC is better than when I opened it a month or 2 ago. I would never guess it was 12 years old since I get very little oak or char flavor.

PVW15 is just about the only thing you could drink today, after the murderers' row of whiskeys you treated us to last night. You set the bar very high. That was once-in-a-lifetime material!

Having Weller 12, Knob Creek, and Jack Daniels Single Barrel. I enjoy Weller but not a huge wheater fan. I like Knob Creek better than the Weller...and JDSB better than them both. But my tastes are different than most.
