Letting my "whiskey geek" really shine as I build a spreadsheet of my inventory to help me keep track of dates bottles are purchased & opened (before I forget when I bought what I have!) And enjoying the last pour of my Vintage 17 :)

Drinking some WTRB tonight, trying to finish off this bottle... not a bad chore to have.

Felt like a glass of wine so I had a pour of Angel's Envy Port Finished. Close enough. Enjoy your drinks everyone.

Drinking some OGD114. I have to say, I like it.

I'm an obsessed wheater and had only drank premium stuff.

Dare I say I may like this more than Weller 12. I'm going to have to see which I like better. I only have one pour of each in my life so far.

My life is opening up to the great value bourbons now. I guess we get a little wiser as we get older.

Cheers

Hugh

Yeah, I'm amazed at what a great value bourbon OGD114 is at $22 around here. It goes down almost to easy. Always taste great no matter what the mood. You discovered a great secret with that bottle. shhhhhhh...

Drinking some W12 and I luuuurve it. This stuff just hits the spot. I'm ready to declare it my favorite regular release, and I really hope it stays a regular release. We should all be drinking bourbon this good every day.

Finishing the night with the Weller 12 too. I was hoping to compare it to my earlier pour of OGD114 to see which I like better, for this level.

But found they are two completely different pour. It's like asking which is your favorite, your son or your daughter.

I guess only time will tie which I will go for a pour more often.

Started with some Ritt 100 and now on to OGD 114. Gonna need the high proof to survive this third period of the Wings game.

EC12 and ECBP 1:1. This a really nice drink at right around Navy proof. Definitely better than the 12, probably not better than the ECBP. That stuff just sings right from the bottle.

Getting to know JW Dant BiB, I think we're going to be friends.

Elijah Craig Single Barrel 18yo, neat.

Mr. Parker Beam has created in this bottle of EC18 a dense yet elegant bourbon here.

This one was barreled in 1990.

The nose is of honeysuckle and I have never gotten that from a Heaven Hill product.

It has a taste of honeysuckle, granny smith apple and clean white oak, which brings up this question, what was the char number for this barrel?

I have had EC18's before that tasted like burnt wood ash but not this baby.

A somewhat short finish but I can't hold that against it because I am a long finish hog.

Having small pours of: FRSB LE 2013, FRSmB LE 2012, and FRSmB LE 2010. All great pours, but the 2012 LE stands out as the best for my taste.

To celebrate Tuesday I'm having some Old Grand Dad.

You must have stacks of cases of that in your rumpus room.

Had some KC at the bar . . . or did I?? That other thread has me wondering now if they didn't cut it with something else - but I guess the important thing is that I enjoyed it :)
