Hey! We are back in the Spring/Summer thread! Where did the Fall/Winter one go?

Appears there was some sort of Vulcan mind meld recently as this is now the Spring/Summer/FALL thread!

Add a Lagavulin and a couple other assorted goodies to the stash. There are certain stores where I cannot keep my wallet in my pocket because of their selection.

For me, it was 2 places from which I withdrew as follows: Bruichladdich Laddie 10 & Rocks, Balvenie Founders Reserve, & Famous Grouse (for the wife )

My wife grabbed this bottle for me as a Christmas present today. Can't wait!!

Me neither! Wait a sec... Does that mean you can't open it until Christmas morning?!

Well, at least thats what she is saying at this point. However, give me a week or so... ;)

Didn't get today, but thanks to the benevolence of another board member, I ended up with a bottle of Loch Dhu and and Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 3 about a week and a half ago.

There is already a chink in the armor. Yesterday evening I mentioned not being able to open the bottle until Christmas and how I could not share samples with other SBers then. She replied to that "Well, if there is a good reason to celebrate something or you have a get together you can open then if you want".

So, anyone want to come over? :D

Tell her we asked for some tasting notes, for the group you understand.

Yeah, I already tried the "taking one for the team" approach and that was a no-go. Though she did understand the desire to try now to determine if I like it. If I do, I would go get another bottle since it's not like there is a ton of Caperdonich out there anymore.

Today I picked up a bottle of POH at the local liquor store. $88.

That's a fortuitous price for scotch if you're Chinese though I'd prefer paying $8.88 instead.

;)

Just pulled the trigger on an order for Springbank Calvados finish, Sheep Dip Amoroso Oloroso, and a 375 of 17yr barrel proof Clynelish.

A little over a month ago I stumbled on a store that had 5 bottles of Scott's Selection 23 Year Old Port Ellens (Cask Strength) sitting on the shelf at $200 a pop. Since I really don't randomly stumble on PEs these days, I put them all on the Credit Card (wife wasn't happy about that). One is getting shipped out and I opened another, but its nice to have three in the bunker, especially given the current trends with PE.
