Made the mistake of stopping by the Total Wine in Rancho today, walked away with an AD Rattray 12 year Cooley and a Berry's 14 year Clynelish.

Grabbed one of these yesterday. I really like this whisky, smoky islay, fruity and bright. Couple of glencairns for good measure. Good deal.

I assume you got that locally? I'd love to get that pack and the online prices don't seem bad but the one site I saw it at was out of stock.

Clynelish 14. Impulse buy. Still a great deal at 46% for $50 but I would prefer it be non-chill fitered and natural colored. My biggest gripe is that I just hate Diageo. I hate to support their enterprise. Ah, well. Can't wait to open this up and see what the Brora style is like.

Yes, locally. Not sure how many he got, think he said a case. I saw it one day and went back for it, but the display was gone, said he sold 2 already. Had to grab one from the back for me. Unfortunately they don't ship. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Lucky, the 15 year is one of my favorite scotches and these days it's hard to find for less than $90, at least where I shop.

I'm lucky that an oddball Italian "Grocer" in St. Paul has it for $63 when it's on sale (roughly every month). They have great deals on a lot of standard offerings. I've fallen in love with the 15 from many different barrels.

A few recent acquisitions. This will be my first Glendronach. I really want to open it now, but I have too much malt open. Luckily, I'm near the end of a few bottles. I just don't particularly want to finish them...

Nice pickups Aaron! I missed out on some of the new Batch 9 Glendronach's because I'm on a buying freeze - oh well...

I need to be on a buying freeze...lol. Anyhow, binged a bit today: Old Pulteney 12, Bruichladdich PC, and to satisfy my Irish side: Tullamore Dew Phoenix

Let us know what you think of the Phoenix. I passed on that in favor of a 12 year Cooley by AD Rattray but I am interested in it as I've enjoyed Tullamore Dew in the past.

Picked up a 375ml Great King Street after reading the new Whiskey Advocate blend issue. Getting over a cold - with three kids under 5, I am coming to terms that I am going to be sick a lot - but so far, it is one of the better blends I've had. Also grabbed a Highland Park 12 on sale with one of those 18YO samples.

17yo cask stength Clynelish from AD Rattray. Opened and had a dram, so far so good. Needs to open up a bit.

As am I. Haven't picked one up yet but have been tempted several times!

Love the Curiositas 10 and it was a good value here in Manitoba. The local liquor monopoly must have realized their error and discontinued it two or three months ago!!

Despite doing some stocking up, I'm getting cheated out of my already slim window of ideal whiskey drinking weather. It's 77 degrees here! I went walking though an outdoor Xmas display last night in a t-shirt (still brought a flask, though).

Will do. I really had not considered buying one, but it kept appearing in my pathways, so I decided to 'force' one to come home with me...lol.
