bllygthrd
Stopped by my local liquor monger today, wanting to pick up a bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (they only got 3 bottles, sold out) ... and picked up a bottle of Pimm's No. 1. Had my first Pimm's Cup at the Napoleon House in New Orleans. Great summer drink! Very refreshing ... a super cooler. Here's the recipe via the Napoleon House website @ http://www.napoleonhouse.com/pimmscup.htmlFill a tall 12 oz glass with ice and add 1.25 oz Pimm's No.1 and 3 oz lemonade. Top off with 7Up and garnish with cucumber.I substitute ginger ale or Ale 8 for the 7Up ... and garnish with a cucumber spear rather than a slice of cucumber ... the cuke really adds to the flavor profile of the drink.Another Pimm's cocktail from http://lovethesecretingredient.net/2012/08/page/2/ ...Mary’s Pimm’s cocktail1.5 oz. Pimm’s1.5 oz. gin – preferably Hendrick’s1 oz. PellegrinoI tall sprig of mintAdditional mint for garnishA very nice cocktail also ...

Tucker
Pimms No. 1 is gin-based, but it always gave me a headache until I started adding an equal part of extra gin to the mix. Potent. I think I'll mix some up tomorrow.
