jaycamm
I know the consensus is that Vintage 17 is a wheater, but what I am wondering is, has their ever been corroboration from an official source? To add to the gossip about Noah's Mill, I was told by a store owner in Boston that production stopped on Vintage 17 because they needed the older juice for Noah's Mill. I realize that this is second hand conjecture but it seems most info we get about KBD is. (This is not a dig at KBD. I am a fan of many of their products). BurnsSoGood
Store manager recommended Larceny as a good representative for wheated bourbons.
mbroo5880i
On the topic of wheaters I was at Willett over the weekend and the tour guide said Noah's Mill is a wheater. Can anyone confirm? For some reason I was skeptical. Anyway we were standing in the sun and I was too hot to ask any questions at the time. Heat makes my brain not work. Thoughts on this?I seem to recall that Noah's Mill is a very small batch of both rye and wheat bourbons. I may be wrong, though.

Magnificent, delicious old stocks of Bernheim. They usually won't disclose sources, but the math adds up, and it tastes very much like a wheater. Before those stocks, it was a rye bourbon. They buy what bourbon they can get their hands on, and use it to supply their products. As far as any of us know, they are out of old wheated bourbon but still have older rye bourbon stocks. I may be wrong, though. That is what I thought but I couldn't think straight because I was so hot. I was just irritated because the tour guide told me it was a wheater and I kept thinking it wasn't. Anyway I guess Noah's Mill is not on the list.

Technically it could be since we dont know the source and they could also have changed the source at some point.
TunnelTiger
Here's a list I did a year ago. Seems mostly still accurate: http://recenteats.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-complete-list-of-wheaters.htmlSKU - thanks for the link, enjoying your blog
AGarrison
Thanks everyone for all the info (especially SKU)! I managed to pick up most of these except the micro distillers, Larceny (not in TN yet), and the VW's of course. This should be an interesting experiment to try them all. TunnelTiger
If you get down to Chattanooga slip over the state line to GA, we have plenty of Larceny

I'm in Knoxville, so that's not too far. I've been meaning to slip over to Chattanooga Whiskey and see how their new building is coming along. Maybe I can see Rock City along the way too - every barn in TN seems to think its a good idea.

Always thought it was wheated. So back in 2001 folks here were talking about this NDP and that its promotional material advertise it as Wheat, Corn, Rye (but actually a 4 grain as barley is also needed). Chuck Cowdery didn't get any response from Mr. Traut in Miami who is still listed on the web site linked by Zillah-though it looks like the site hasn't been updated since 2012.You also might get a kick out of the old thread and its drift on James Bond movies and then Paradox commenting how he never pay $75 for the BTAC with Barrel-Proof then noting their $36.99 price tag .http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?218-Corner-Creek-bourbon
Wryguy
Thanks for that blast from the past Thad! Very interesting to read through all the Bond references. Also found the indication of a flavoring room at Willett to be really curious. What are flavoring rooms and what goes on in them?

Also interesting that no ageing or use of rack houses was yet being done there in 2002...if you believe her son.
