there are too many great sub-$30 bourbons for me to even consider supporting one of these greedy bastards. i hope they all end up losing their asses on something someday

Also explains why there are Bourbon websites that don't accept any new members.

Bourbon Enthusiast is the only one I know of. Are there others?

More like pure out greed. There's been a long history of folks scouring estate/yard sales for anything they could sell for profit at their flea market booth and when the internet arrived there was a natural migration to sell on that venue. For them Bourbon is just a means to a profit and Boards like ours educated them on what to buy.

I personally have no problem with any of this squire. There are probably hundreds of thousands of people all over this great land who make a living or supplement their living doing this. They have taken the time to educate themselves about current market viability and pounced on the opportunity to make some money. Good for them. As enthusiasts, we may unhappy about securing the bottles we want because of the flippers buying what we might buy, I say bully, there is tons of good whiskey available to purchase that they can't flip. I will lose no sleep to the flippers who buy all the limited release bourbons in my area, as I will not be deprived.

As a side note:

Maybe the flippers are real bourbon enthusiasts, they over buy to fill their bunker with hard to find, "must have" stuff. Then one day they say " I'd rather have a pool, or I'd rather have a new car/ hot rod/ motorcycle/ camper, or I'd rather pay down the mortgage, or I'd rather pay the college tuition bill..etc" then have all this excess whiskey. If they sell it for a profit, I say good for them. If they don't, I say they should have done their homework better.

They accept new members. I think he was referring to 1789b.

I have bought a few bottles on there. Nothing overly fancy or expensive. I do love the bourbon porn.

I often inquire about pricing and trading options. What people want it ridiculous. 2 bottles of 2013 4roses lmtd sgl brl and he wants 2 pappy 15s and for me to pay shipping.

I do get tired of the people continuously posting the same bottles for sipping. If no one bit on the price it's too high. Quit posting it 3 times a day.

As a side note:

Definitely the flippers are fake bourbon enthusiasts, they over buy to fill their for sale photos with hard to find, new stuff. Then tomorrow they say " I'd rather have cash, or I'd rather have a used bottom line 3 series with cloth interior lease I can't really afford, or I'd rather pay rent than have all this excess whiskey that tastes nothing like the Jager bombs I like".

I sure appreciate that. I just saw some PHC Blend of Mashbills for 119.99. Yes/no?

What really kills me about the BX is the car shots. The dunderheads can't even wait to get home show what they just effing bought to flip on someone. Then, when you call someone on being a shyster they lock out comments clear them, and then repost like nothing happened. Oh well. I'm done. Think I'm gonna open that Ritt BiB relax for the evening.

I don't get too concerned about flippers because I really can't control it. I have never bought any alcohol to sell later. I have bought extra bottles of favorites to gift to others and I have gifted opened bottles to friends who tell me they enjoy a particular offering after trying it. I gave away a partial bottle of Larceny last night after a friend told me that he really like it. I told him to keep it and try it a few times. If he likes it, we can always pick up more the next time one of us is in KY.

I purchased this Lagavulin 21 today with the intentions on flipping it tomorrow. Then I realized that tomorrow is Sunday. Flipping liquor on Sunday just seems wrong. I guess I will have to wait until Monday.

Or just drink it, Jesus won't mind, he served wine to the wedding guests.

It would have been whiskey if he'd had a still.

Sorry, no pictures to post from me. I plan on drinking what I have, or sharing it with other members here. The only things I plan on flipping, are empties into the recycle bin.

Cheers! Joe
