ThomasH
Found this at a local Store yesterday. Has a nice reddish color and a nice flavor. A real winner!Thomas
squire
Why not? Couldn't hurt, Morgan's a mixer anyway.
Clavius
I got a chance to try this and I thought it was pretty good as well. Certainly a step up from regular Captain. Maybe even better than the "Private Stock" Captain.
tanstaafl2
Odd that they released it as a 70 proof product though. Almost like a high proof liqueur. Low proof doesn't add much as a mixer. Seems more like a rum for people who don't drink rum or other spirits neat or as the predominate component in a cocktail often. Maybe it is trying to compete with the honey flavored whiskey crowd as a cocktail in a bottle.Haven't tried it primarily for that reason so perhaps the taste makes it worthwhile. I can't say from personal experience.
squire
I expect they are trying to appeal to the same consumers who buy 70 proof, flavored vodkas.
