kcgumbohead
Stopped by one of my local stores today. One of the owners had been telling me about a 4R barrel pick that was on the way. I thought it would be the traditional OBSV 100 proof but to my surprise it was a Private Selection OESQ at 118 proof. Had a chance to sample and was quite impressed. Just another reason why I'm a big 4R fan.

petrel800
Headed up there tomorrow. Hope you left me a few...Ha ha, I bought it all . . . all kidding aside, I would get up there soon, it appeared they were down to 5 or so cases. The barrel only yielded 17 cases, Paul took 9 and another retailer took 8. By my calculations, that barrel most likely lost about 55 percent of its original contents.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
petrel800
Have you tried it yet? Looking forward to others thoughts. I usually lean towards the OB vs OE, but damn that is a fine pour!I have not, Paul offered me a taste today, but I could not partake. Although reading the notes and seeing your's and Joe's notes, it sounds like a winner. I'll get into it this week. If I enjoy it I might have to grab another.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Old Lamplighter
Although it was not a 'dusty' in the true sense of the word, I found something very dusty today in one of those 'yesteryear' stores where something like this usually sits for a long, long time > OGD 114 @ $19.99. Yep, yesteryear's price tag too.

bingstein
Met up with a new friend and got a Sazerac 18. I have long yearned to get my hands on a high-aged rye but it has eluded me until now. I don't have anything to compare it to (other than about 1 oz of Michters 25 rye), but I look forward to having a big pour of this when I get home from work. Also, I have found that despite all the douchebaggery surrounding the current bourbon scene, I have crossed paths with some of the nicest people over the last year, folks that I regularly chat with on Facebook or via text, many of whom I have never met. This on top of the terrific people on this site. Cheers to there being more diamonds in the rough than one would think.
