jwacky
I passed up on several BTOC yesterday (Handy and Eagle Rare) at $95, as well as JPS 18 and FR SmBtch LE from 2010 and 2011 at the same price. Notice the mark-ups on the Stagg and Van Winkle's though, in the below picture! The Four Roses and JPS 18 were difficult to let go, but I've already spent more than enough this Fall on "high end" bourbon and have been lucky with the BTAC, Pappy and 4R LE's. But I simply could not leave without the one bottle of Elijah Craig barrel Proof (3rd batch, 66.6) this store had received which was priced at $42. Passed?! It was only $999.99, that's not even a thousand bucks. And I'll price match that bottle of Stagg if anyone is interested, too. Geez...
Yeti
I'll price match that bottle of Stagg if anyone is interested, too. Geez...Odd, that's last years release. Strange that it would still be available. I wonder why that is?

White Dog
Thankful for frugal Wisconsin. $69.99 for 2013 GTS, and $24.99 for FR1B. The FR price is curtesy of Sendik's, who just started a 5 day sale today.

GaryT
After going back/forth for a few months now, finally broke down and picked up a Henry McKenna SB BIB (older label, this one barreled in Sept 2001). I've never tried one I didn't like, and finally seeing it sub $30 I think was enough of a push.
OscarV
I stumbled across this little beaut today. A Wild Turkey Tradition, 14yo 101prf. I knew that this store had one but I forgot about it. They used to have it displayed and today I was talking to the owner about an order I wanted to make and it crossed my mind. I asked if it was still around and he pulled it out from behind a bunch of WT 101's & 81's.

skidfive
I tell ya though, if he is only making a few dollars on bottles, it has to be better then sitting on inventory, priced way up, getting dusty and not selling. And he gained a loyal customer out of it. smknjoe
Some owners either don't get it or don't care. I have a friend who used to own a liquor store and when he was hurting for money he would raise prices. I told him that he would move more if his prices were lower, but his response was that he would not make enough money if he lowered prices... adub23
Lot B and a baby Saz at state minimum. Nice to see some owners aren't out to totally take advantage of the current situation.
petrel800
Found an age stated Old Weller Antique. It's got some white particles floating around in it, I'm assuming they are left over from the filtering process.Code on the bottle is 42680710:15Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
smknjoe
Bottled in 2007 and the particles are normal. Just fatty acids if I'm not mistaken. Shake it up and enjoy.

I cannot fathom why a store would hold onto something for a decade or more. In our store, if a product doesn't sell in a year (hell, often 8 months is the limit) it's price is reduced and we clear the product out. With a few very rare exceptions, no bottle in our store is more than a year old.
