I picked up a handle of Eagle Rare. The pull of that glorious bottle was just too powerful. Also, I've got my BT foil hat on and I'm paranoid that it's going away. Also picked up 3 750 WT101 and Overholt and Pikesville Ryes for holiday punches, toddies, and stone fences.

I bought a WT101 gift pack. $18 for the bourbon and two glasses isn't bad.

Stagg and a local barrel pick 4R OBSV. I have seen a lot of barrel pick OBSV's in the last few months, all about the same age and all very good. That recipe is showing very well about now.

Parker's Heritage POH, first time I have seen it in NY. Loved the other PHs so I thought I'd give it a chance.

I also just picked up a PHC7 in NYC. This particular release has sentimental value as my father in law passed away a few years ago after battling ALS and my son Parker was born this year. Look forward to enjoying this with him in about 20 years! But I'll probably have to buy another as it'll be really hard not give it a try as I've throroughly enjoyed the previous PHC's.

Finally pulled the trigger on the 2013 FRLESB. Was a placeholder for a buddy getting some VW (I had gotten mine earlier in the week and we have a nice little reciprocal sharing arrangement) and hated the idea of not having my own bottle to show for the wait.

Ha! for a split second i thought you were pulling our leg...was like "the guy is approaching a mid double digit collection of the LEsB and he's pretending he just found one?". the LESB is a solid product. Glad i have a few spares lying around from the Spring.

After going back/forth for a few months now, finally broke down and picked up a Henry McKenna SB BIB (older label, this one barreled in Sept 2001). I've never tried one I didn't like, and finally seeing it sub $30 I think was enough of a push.

My phone rang today and I was offered my choice of any one of the VW releases (with the exception of the 23 or rye, as my friend did not receive any of either at their store). I really wanted the rye, but gladly chose the 15.

I hope I made the right choice, and more importantly, am thankful for good friends and long term relationships.

The specific distillery is not identified on the label, although the label has "COPR. 1941-SWD Inc." It has a nice flavor and is pretty solid.

If it was bottled in 99 then there's a chance it's S-W and if not then Bernhiem. Frankfort or Louisville on the label? Grab a current bottle and do a side by side and see if you can tell a difference.

It says "Distilled by W.L. and Sons, Louisville, KY." I don't have any of the current NAS bottles. I did do a side-by-side with current WL12 and OWA NAS 107. It has a thicker, oiler mouth feel. The nose is an awesome butterscotch, toffee. Not a wow bourbon, but very good.
