@autiger23 - seeing the riches you seem to easily be able to find makes a New Englander very jealous. Neither BTAC or PVW has hit MA yet, and although it has come to RI. We are still waiting on the FR 125th - it's almost feels as if those Kentucky distilleries are punishing us Yankees for something that happened 150 years ago...

Uummmm...I realize this isn't history class, but at what point did Kentucky seceed from the union?

KY never seceeded from the Union, but maintained that they weren't taking a political stance for either side. We were the Switzerland of the Civil War, along with MD, DE, and MO (together, the 4 made a pretty neat straight line east to west dividing the north from the south)

That's completely incorrect. Kentucky stopped being neutral shortly after the Confederacy invaded it in 1861. There were many battles fought there, not just one. Troops being sent to both sides is correct, of course. Brother against brother.

I swear I'm not trying to be argumentative, Doug. I'm just the biggest history nerd of all.

I could be wrong, but i thought Perryville was the only real 'battle' recognized in KY, everything else was generally considered 'skirmishes'

There was even a battle in Elizabethtown, and one of the cannonballs fired in that battle is still on display "stuck" in the side of a building on the square downtown. Here is a link for anyone interested:

VWFRR. I have been looking for a rye and struck out on Saz18. I was on the fence about this one, I hope it is as good as I have read the past years releases have been and as far as I can tell it is the same juice as past releases. Not getting the Bigstein!! vibe that I get when I come across a nice 4R private barrel. Maybe I am just burned out on all the VW hype

In the one lottery I'm in, the VWFRR is the one I picked - second choice is the Saz18. Hope this doesn't cause too much thread drift, but is the VWFRR now all BT or are they still working off a tanked supply like the Saz18?

Thanks to the awesome Bingstein..... I was able to find the 8 year WFE I'd been wanting since the Willett tour during KBF.

I told my wife I wanted one for a Christmas or a B-day present, but that she'd probably not be able to find one. Bingstein told me where a stash of it was 2 hours from my home. Tonight, I went in to work and they wanted me to take some frozen steaks to a customer in that town, so I happily agreed, and got to drive there on their dime. I had to 'slightly' break the $50 rule, but since it's a gift TO me......:grin:

118 bottles to a single barrel seems kinda low.....that's only 23 gallons left in the barrel after 8 years...

Went by one of my two dealers at lunch to get a couple bottles of some great tasting value brands and finally, finally on the shelf were two bottles of 4RSmbLE13! Has reached the boonies at last. Just goes to show if you don't waste time hunting sometimes they come right to you.
