393foureyedfox
Glad you found one, but two hours from home... eh, I was there anyway....like 2 miles from where I had to go, and I knew it was there....so why not?
Tony Santana
Was visiting friends in Tampa last weekend (who thoughtfully had a bottle of ER10 sitting there for me even though they're not bourbon drinkers) and found a lone Stagg Jr. on a shelf - never see it around here, so I snapped it up. Then today I was on the road for work and made a quick detour to stop by a place I remembered seeing some 4R LE's at in the past. No luck with the 4R's, but decided to pick up a CEHT Single Barrel - that only leaves the Straight Rye and I'll have a full collection of all 6 CEHT's. Both of which i like, and neither to be found in New Mexico I need to get another Charter 101, it's been a while. I remember that I loved it when I first got it, yet my affinity waned by the time the bottle was empty.

ThirstyinOhio
I picked up PVW 20, lot b, and the 10 year yesterday and ordered a PVW 15. No luck getting a 23 or the rye this year, but its better than nothing.
bingstein
Bingstein! ER101 NOLA from 1990. No idea where the juice inside comes from (heaven?), but the NOLAs I've had have been magnificent

Yeti
The PVW15 2012 I have open absolutely crushes the several W12s I've had over the past year. I think the extra proof and barrel selection play a much larger role than the additional age. Now, a 65/35 SB blend I put out next to the PVW15 at my birthday in September was actually preferred by some in attendance. It's certainly much better than either Weller product on their own. Eskwar
Finally introduced myself in the "New to SB" sub today. Now on to today's bidness at hand:- WSR 7 x2 ($17/ea) - that briefly-available transition edition in the current bottle, but with 7yo on the neck, instead of 90pf on the neck; perhaps from ~09.- OC10 86 ($33 for the handle) - bottled ~97 IIRC, featuring that nice historic LV designation from the pre-FF years, and a little UD-authored hangtag on it.Also, in the past few days:- PVW 20 - mgr of a semi-local store likes the fact that I always have my well-behaved kids w/ me; he hooked me up with the 23 last year.- GTS - ditto.- ORVW 10 - ditto, albeit a different mgr, at a different store, on a different day.- WLW - ditto.- Balcones Texas Single Malt - a third mgr, a third store, a third day.- Stagg Jr - ditto; to compare to it's big bro (plus my first bottle of it was devastated on a recent camp-out). troyce
Don't drink a lot of Beam products, but I picked up a bottle of the Jim Beam 7 year old in SC the other day for 17.00 . Only 80 proof but good taste and balance and tough to beat for that price. I'll be buying again.

DrBob
I think the best comparison is Buffalo trace at a higher proof. It is higher rye, but a pretty mellow drinker.
kcgumbohead
I intend to try that SB blend. I like W12 very much and IMO it is a huge step up from SR so I can imagine the extra age and proof kick it that much higher. The sum exceeding the parts is one I am looking forward to though. Thanks!!The PVW15 2012 I have open absolutely crushes the several W12s I've had over the past year. I think the extra proof and barrel selection play a much larger role than the additional age.
