GaryT
Picked up a FRSB store pick, great price at $30 (as the gentleman behind the counter "sold" me on the fact my friend Bill has bought several bottles and really liked it).
Ejmharris
Picked up the following:- 6 x OWA 375 - 1 x FR SB gift set, nice 125 anniversary glasses- 1 x OFBB '13 - haven't opened the one I have yet but will most likely be a Christmas present for my brother. Eskwar
2 AAA 10 Star for $15 each, and a 2013 Larue for $100.I mistakenly bought 2 AAA 10 Star handles in Dallas last year, mistaking them for you-know-what. A few weeks later, I got some AAA 10 Year while in KY, and did some SBSs upon my return. While they were similar, they were definitely not identical ... and there were quite a few days where I preferred the 10 Star to its older brother for some reason (10 Star is 90 pf, IIRC, to 10 Year's 86 pf; perhaps that was why). This made the 10 Star one of the better "mistakes" I've made, and would be happy to make again.

I have seen some posts in the last year on the topic but couldn't find it in search. I know these are not older bottles because they do not have the hand written bottle numbers and there is an email and web site on the label. I assume they are a current bottling, but why did they not decide to eliminate the age statement on the 375's? squire
I suspect that's just old stock, 375s didn't move as fast.

There will be a printed date code on the back of the bottle that will tell you the exact date it was bottled. There is also a date embossed on the bottom of the glass but that can be very inaccurate since that size bottle seems to have moved very slowly. (ie. I know a guy that has a 375 with the same label as yours that is dated 03 on the bottom but the printed code shows it was actually bottled in 2006.)Edit: I do know the handwritten numbers pre-date 2003 since I have a couple 375s from that year. DeadEye09
Picked up a Weller 12. I think it was in the system as a WSR because they had trouble ringing it up and it came out to be $11.99.I had to choose between the W12 or the OWA 107 (which is probably also $11.99). Did I make the right choice? I reckon at 12 bucks there is no wrong choice!

Now go back and buy the OWA, and mix up some of the SB blend and you'll be golden.

Eskwar
Tried the GTS and Stagg Jr.. Side by side last night... They do have some similarities.. But the GTS takes the cake at only $15 more a bottle... Although I would never refuse either! Thanks for the research, KCJ. I had my first Stagg (OG) this past summer at Delilah's in Chicago, courtesy of SB-er brettckeen -- easily the best of the many I tried that day. Didn't get to try SJ until last month -- neat it was ... difficult, though with some ice while camping with friends, it was superb. My project for tomorrow is to SbSbS Stagg Original w/ Stagg Jr. w/ the last of my CEHT BP (which I haven't had in a few months, but really like the green apple-like memory of). Well done!I've rarely been surprised to find things around the state, but I must admit I was very surprised to see any VW whatsoever around here. The guy told me he received hundred of calls about Pappy in the last few months, and this was a town of like 2000 people and not close to any of the bigger cities.
