P&MLiquorsEric
The wife and I cracked open a bottle of 2010 Pessac Leognan from Haut Bergey and killed it pretty quickly. Really great stuff. Its a $40 bottle, but I think its pretty reasonable at that price.Red or white? That area of Bordeaux has some excellent (and rare) white wines. Dolph Lundgren
Red or white? That area of Bordeaux has some excellent (and rare) white wines.Red blend. Very thick and mineral(y) - not too sweet. I've been really getting into the Franc wine lately. bigtoys
we had this last night. half bottle, so we each had a big glass. a little pricey, but an EXCELLENT Napa Cab and always good/reliable. Now that they've returned to the Inglenook name, hope they continue to make it. Rubicon/Inglenook is owned by Francis Ford Coppola. Previously known as Niebaum-Coppola (winery was originally Inglenook Winery founded by Finnish Sea Captain Gustave Niebaum per Wikipedia), then Rubicon in 2006, Coppola acquired the Inglenook name in 2011 and once again (re)named the winery Inglenook. the winery is in Rutherford, right on Hwy 29. Great place to visit. Good visitor center and tasting room. note the "NC" in the diamond at the bottom
Clavius
Interesting. I knew that Niebaum/Coppola used to be Inglenook. But wasn't aware he had renamed it back to Inglenook.
Thig
Grahams Six Grapes Port, I could start every night off with this. I have to finish it with Bourbon however.Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
bigtoys
last night had a bottle of Cain Five 2006--excellent one of my favorites and my wife's all time favorite it's a Bordeaux blend from way up on Spring Mtn in Napa and quite the harrowing drive--I've done it several times. don't know if going up or coming down (after tasting) is worse. probably down as you're driving on the cliff side. probably even worse for the passenger (wife). they've taken us out into the vineyards a couple of times the Cain Five grapes come from the Spring Mtn vineyards; they also do a blend from benchland grapes called Cain Concept we were invited to a tasting comparing them (3 different years of each) in 2012
Max Power
I classed it up last night and had some Duca boxed red wine. Pretty damn tasty for $12.88 for 3L.

sutton
Splurged a bit this weekend with a 2008 Hansel Russian River Pinot and a 2003 Dunn Cab Howell Mountain - the Hansel was terrific but is still quite primary; won't open the next one for a few years. The Dunn was very good but the '03 vintage doesn't seem to be one built for aging - if you have 'em, I'd drink 'em. I was a bit surprised given how big Dunn usually makes his wines, but the raw materials didn't have it this year.

Clavius
Had some 2011 Orin Swift Abstract last night. Not bad, but a little hot for me alcohol-wise at 15.7%.
Dolph Lundgren
Bought a bottle of 2002 Opus 1 for V-day to impress the wife. Cracked that sucker and...mustiness. Damn thing was corked. I'm 2/2 for spending a lot of money on a nice vintage and it being corked (the other was a 1981 Chateau Margaux). Fool me twice...After the Cain 5 post above, I think that'll be my next purchase. Any notes/comments on the Cuvee? Seems like a reasonable price.
JVande
Cracked open a cellared Jarvis 2001 - great stuff - tannins had subsided nicely and picked up tobacco notes. Too bad they recently transitioned to 'on premise' accounts only...

DBM
Recently enjoyed a bottle of 2009 Trisaetum Estates Reserve pinot noir and 2006 Fidelitas Ciel du Cheval cab sauv. Both were fantastic and the Trisaetum benefited from a couple runs through the Vinturi.

Thanks for sharing. Napa is great.I think it's our 9th time out there, so we are quite good at it. Less wine this time since I was at a conference. A few more pics to follow in the next few days. We spent Saturday with my wife's cousin, her husband and their son; it was their first time out there and we weren't sure how much they wanted to drink so we kept it low key.
