Having a pour of ECBP:EC12 1:1 vatting. This continues to be one of my very favorite pours these days. That first sip wows me EVERY single time.

A 4R single barrel cask strength pick from Schneider's in Capitol Hill. It's an E recipe but, peculiarly, the yeast isn't listed. I've never seen that before.

Anyway, undiluted it's a bit closed, just some creamy notes and some butterscotch. Again, peculiar for Four Roses. With a little water it bursts open with wood and spice notes. Fun stuff!

I'm going to try that tonight. Sounds good.

What are the two on the right, the one in the middle that says "bourbon rye", and is that a 4yr. Old Rip?

Sipping on an EWBIB after about 12 hours of outside projects. What a nice bourbon! It has a good full HH profile. My favorite local just started carrying it. I have bought several bottles and started stashing a few at buddies houses. I want the manager of the liquor store to see enough sales of it to keep it on the shelf for a long time to come. It's finally spring up here in the northern MN. Thank God!

Two pours to compare. Ten drops each water purified. EC12 last pour from a month old bottle, and BT. Still trying to see why so many love BT over others, I think I'm getting better at tastes as Im picking up something I didnt before in BT. EC is delicious as always to this newb.

My first ever taste of 4R 125th. I now see what all the fuss is about. Sublime.

took a bottle of Dickel 9 year to a gathering today. 4 out of 5 loved it, the other one thought it was too hot.....but he's a scotcher. The others loved it enough to drain the bottle. Good times!

I was in danger of going right back to the 4R 125th and going down the path of draining that bottle all to quickly so I switched it up and went with Old Forester Signature. Dang if this isn't a pretty good pour as well. This is my first pour of this one also and I clearly taste the base product for what gets used as the Birthday Bourbon. This is younger stuff for sure, but what I like about the Birthday Bourbon is present in this one.

2nd dram of a japan import vsof12 that shows quite some cloudiness and a strong alcohol note at the beginning. very pleasing after that though. maybe the damaged plastic screwtop (even though sealed with a plastic foil) is the reason? sbs with another bottle planned.

after that a small taste of orvw10/90. getting blueberry-galore on the nose, this seems to be getting better every time I taste it. it was a total disappointment at first. I actually felt like the bottle might have been tainted (the bottle had minor leakage with the sealing still on and I got the strangest oily notes from it).

carrying on with my first taste of johnny drum private stock.

Black Saddle a pleasant sipper with a bit of a rye finish. With a splash of water a fruitiness emerged that was enjoyable. Followed up with TX, HW rendezvous and 2013 GTS. A great night of tasting with my car buddies after an awesome day of high performance driving at Nismo Fiesta in San Marcos, Texas.

Let us know what you think once you've tried it:)

That does sound good. The proof comes close to 114?

If you're referring to the vatting, it's closer to 115.5 or so (I think) since I use batch 2 of the ECBP at 137 proof.

Big pours of

B25th - it's been my daily pour

ECBP 4 - another bottle about to empty out. Tracking one every 3-4 weeks, oh my.

Going for GTS '13 then '12 next to mix it up.

My son and I nearly polished off a bottle of ETL last night and it was great! That was over an extended evening of grilling, dining, and cards. But, we did manage to put a hurting on that bottle.

Elijah Craig 12,if you think a bourbon has to cost $50 or more to be good then you have to try this.

Preach the Gospel Reverend! Tonight I had some Evan Black with a good friend while sharing some smoked fish that I cooked today. It was really nice.
